    Thoughts on Swarm

Sorry for the bump but I finally got to ride The Swarm last week and thought I would post my comments on the ride. Overall I think it's a great addition to Thorpe, adding to an already very good coaster line-up. The approach to the area is really cool, as you have the first drop looming over you...

Should parks stagger opening & ride opening times?

Ok, this is a tough one I think. On the one hand, I'd take the view that you've paid to get in, the park specifies its opening hours and excluding weather/break downs, all the rides and attractions should be available within the opening times. However, in larger parks it may make sense to...

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

^I'll take you up on that! Though I've no idea when I'll be back at PA. I honestly understand where you're coming from - I believe that it is a good ride if you know how to ride it. Obviously, the best of rides shouldn't need the rider to do something in particular to make the experience...

    Best Woodie Combo

As someone said, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a park that certainly offers a good variety of wooden coasters. They're all pretty old, mind.

    Furious Baco Restraint Failure

UC makes a good point. When there was the problem with the X-car trains, wasn't it intially thought that all coasters running the 2 car trains would be affected? It is strange how the restraint has snapped in such a way though. It would be interesting to find out some more about the incident.

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

I wouldn't agree that Khan knocks the socks off Nemesis at all; I find Nemesis a much better ride. I don't even think Khan is the best B&M looper. You may be right about the hype that surrounds it though - I was expecting something amazing, and it just didn't deliver. As for Stampida, well, I...

    European top 10

Interesting topic... didn't realise how many American coasters were in my top 10 until now. 1. Shambhala, Port Aventura 2. Nemesis, Alton Towers 3. Stealth, Thorpe Park 4. Dragon Kahn, Port Aventura 5. Megafobia, Oakwood 6. Tonnerre de Zeus, Parc Asterix 7. Silver Star, Europa Park 8. Oblivion...

    UncleArly's Development Thread.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - Thelxiope Released. Pretty nice ride, one of the first attempts at a wingrider I've seen personally and you did a good job. The layout was fun, but maybe a bit too much sticking to the standard in my opinion. It seemed like it could have been a bit longer as well...

Coasters that you have re-ridden the most

Been on Nemesis about 150 times in total, then Oblivion is closely behind on about 130. For one day, Nemesis takes that as well with 20 - it took its toll I tell you.

Faarup Sommerland | Orkanen | Vekoma SFC

Re: Faarup Sommerland announces new rcoaster for 2013! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCy-p47qoBA Looks pretty fun I think, but the layout's a bit strange.

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

Triple post but hey ho... So we’re now onto the last part of the report which describes our second day at Port Aventura. We got there a bit earlier this time (about 11am) and headed through the entrance, greeted once again by that fabulous view of Shambhala. The aim today was to ride things we...

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

Part 3 of the report shows some parts of our day trip to Barcelona. We got the train there from where we were staying which took longer than we anticipated but as soon as we got there we headed for lunch. Then we took a bus tour in the afternoon, followed by a walk down to the port where we had...

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

^There are lots more photos coming in the day 2 report from PA including quite a few of Dragon Kahn and Shambhala from near the bottom of the Shambhala area. Anyway, the next part of the trip report shall concern Port Aventura Aquatic Park. We had to go there the day after the first visit to...

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

^I'm sad to say we didn't stay for the show. Pretty gutted as I imagined it would be good but on the first day everyone was exhausted and on the second day we had to leave earlier. I'm sure I'll see it in the future though as there are plenty of reasons to go back to PA! I suppose the Baco...

    Rita's Launch Cable Snaps

Double post but kind of significant to the topic I guess. There is now a tunnel under the launch which you can walk through with vines on the walls. Only picture I've seen is on The Alton Towers Guide Facebook page, though I'm trying to find one to link to.

    Alton Towers 30th July 2012

I agree with your comments about Sub-Terra. I was there on Monday too and it was a pretty good day in terms of queues (mostly affected by rain). As for the Choo Choo on RMT: a certain ride-op started the whole Choo Choo thing (now known as Choo Choo Lady) and I think it's just stuck.

    Rita's Launch Cable Snaps

It was definitely more extreme than normal; once we were let through we basically walked straight through to the station. It has never been like that before. We found it quicker to go through where the old Ug Land entrance was if you aren't already in Dark Forest (turning left before you reach...

Port Aventura Park and Water Park + Barcelona

I recently spent a week in Spain where I took my first (and second visit) to Port Aventura. This report will comprise four parts: 1. First day at Port Aventura Park 2. Port Aventura Aquatic Park 3. Barcelona 4. Second day at Port Aventura Park Before we went we ordered 3 day/2 park passes...
