Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown Gestlauer World's 1st
^I agree, I doubt it has anything to do with the track (wear on the track over time possibly). Alterations to the train weight, wheel assembly and shape/dynamics will hopefully be good with SW7.
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown Gestlauer World's 1st
I agree. The slight 'roughness', sharp transitions along with those restraints are what people complain about. I personally don't mind it. Look at Dare Devil Dive and Iron shark, they are probably one of their smoothest and are ageing...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
What you say is true, but when did I ever doubt TH3TEEN being a good ride? I really like it too. I was referring to the 'Free Fall Drop' element that was over anticipated/hyped and simply saying that would also be the case if the...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
^All that technology and for a simple inversion? Seems a bit crazy and pointless to me...waste of money which could go to something much more interesting. We'll have a 'TH3TEEN' all over again.
As for the spider thing, that's a good...
^Thanks for that information...it really helped :D. Your answers were what I initially thought, I really needed clarification from someone who knows better than me.
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
I don't know why but the giant spider makes me think the ride is going to be based around a sort of infection causing a genetic mutation/change of a 'normal' spider; over time evolving into a huge creature of some sort. Hence the...
I am in the process of planning and designing for a scale model (1:30) of an Intamin mega lite (Piraten). I am struggling however to find the dimensions of Intamin's 2 tube track with cross ties. I was wondering if it looked more like this:
The 'height' longer than than the 'base' or:
The...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
I doubt it will not be a Eurofighter. I have been fed with enough evidence for me not to think otherwise. (noise report, layout ect.)
Re: tomahawKSU's dev thread (new track released!)
I quite like the idea for the first coaster, considering you did it in one day. Haven't seen anyone use a Vekoma motorbike coaster during my time here. However, there were many jerks and some of your transitions looked odd. The idea needs...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
Exciting, finally, some significant work is taking place! I personally do think it will be a Eurofighter, look at this noise report. (If this has already been brought up, I am deeply embarrassed  )...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
^Harsh weather conditions can obviously be hazardous; Staffordshire's weather is meant to consist of rain until Friday. I don't think we should expect much for the next few days either.
I am following your advice, I am much happier with the lift hill and drop shape now:
The supports for the drop are near completion, I am still working on nodes for the lift hill and other areas at the moment:
Thanks for the advice, like I said earlier I'ts still far from finished and I wouldn't dare leave the support work like that :D. I will work on the lift hill and drop segments like you suggested. For the drop support I'm going to mimic structure of Maverick's...
Re: Alton Towers | SW7 | Unknown (Gestlauer?) World's 1st
Maybe I'm just too oblivious but I don't understand all the hate on Eurofighter OTSRs; yes they can be a bit bulky and uncomfortable at times but I have never experienced any real pain or headbanging. The sides of the restraints hardly...
Re: 'Threshold' (under construction)- Intamin Coaster
I have managed to get a target view of the coaster in action. I know the quality and frame rate is not great and i'm sorry for that. My computer is pretty slow, it was the best I could do for now. You can see the coaster for yourself much...
Re: 'Threshold' (under construction)- Intamin Coaster
Thanks for the help, I've got a few new images to show. Most of the track was already planned, which is why I have managed to finish the track bare bones quickly.
The ride duration is not long, but hopefully should pack a punch! I have...
Re: 'Threshold' (under construction)- Intamin Mega-Lite Coas
Thanks! Yeah I know the layout does not exactly represent a mega-lite in any way, I was struggling to find out what coaster type it would fin into. :--D
