Alton Towers | Unknown | Unknown Junior Coaster | 2026

Surprising news. Could be a Zierer Force, I suppose. They already have a Zamperla, and the Vekoma ones are probably more of a big deal than the way they're describing it.

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Cheers for that, @Niles. True. Do you remember the survey a couple of years ago, where they asked about other themes, such as Jungle, Knights etc? Personally, I would still like a Pirate, Jungle or Castle theme to come to the park. We'll have to see whether footers appear on the Go-Karts or...

Strangest/funniest things you’ve overheard or seen happen out and about

Sorry for the delay, Matt, I meant to reply but forgot. We see and hear a lot of things when out and about, but often they seem funnier at the time. One thing does stand out though: Once I was at Walton-on-the-Naze, when I saw a man on the beach in a thong. Another bloke was crouching down...

Parque del Café | Avix | Gerstlauer Infinity Inverted | 2025

I believe that's Storm - The Dragon Legend, at Tusenfryd. This is a little bit smaller and with a lift hill. Will be interesting to see who can establish themselves as a good alternative to B&M when it comes to inverted coasters nowadays - Gerstlauer or Vekoma. There are still quite a few...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Looks like no real construction updates are possible right now, but this is just to say that Raging River has been fully removed. Two clear areas are now forming - one east of Cobra and one west of it. More likely than ever we'll get a water ride and a coaster at once, I think:

Project Exodus at Thorpe Park; Current Layout (Mack) or Alternative Layout (Likely B&M)?

I'm hoping Universal goes ahead and that's another chance for the UK to get a proper B&M hyper, of the typical layout and length. They have the money and the permission to build something of that height, plus Universal has built a (small) one before. Doesn't even need to be UK's tallest (200ft...

    Gardaland | Animal Treasure Island | I Corsari Retheme | 2025

Excellent. I have a very, very good feeling about this one. I read the Robert Louis Stevenson book a few years ago, actually, and yeah, it was a good story, but I think they're onto a winner by making an animal version. Hopefully parks are realising that if you're going to have a massive dark...

    Walton Walks

29 November 2024 - Beach Huts and Blizzards Walton-on-the-Naze. This is the place referred to in the Blur song Tracy Jacks, as well as the Ted & Ralph Christmas Special. I hadn't been here for a while, and it was a fine day, so it was time for a visit. I parked just south of the Naze...

What's The Song You're Listening To Right Now?

This song has been my vibe all year - Margarita by Sleepy Brown, featuring Pharrell Williams and Big Boi. I used to come in from work in the 2000s and relax with the music videos on TV. I only caught bits of this song, but never knew who it was (only that it sounded like Pharrell). I picked...

    The Book Thread

Yes, I enjoyed that one. It's really an excuse to show the best scenes on stage, isn't it? But I did enjoy it. I re-read the Sherlock Holmes stories, so I'll review them as a block, if I may: A Study in Scarlet (1887). The first Holmes story. Whilst the first half is remarkable, the book...

Wonderful Warwick Castle - Niles' Nostalgia Trips

Enjoyed catching up with your TRs, Niles, especially my old favourites Great Yarmouth and Pleasurewood Hills. The coaster at the Big Sheep looks surprisingly good. I had a friend who used to tell me about his trips to Metro Centre and Spanish City (Whitley Bay), so it's interesting to see they...

    Clacton Blues: Off-Season TRs

22 November 2024 - The House & the Hulk It had been a while since I visited Clacton. To my knowledge, I hadn’t been here since September last year. Oktoberfest was on, and as I left the pier I found myself surrounded by a crowd. I had inadvertently gone there on the same day as an annual...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

I don't know how big these are intended to be, but it looks like it's almost on the scale of a Mega-Lite. Maybe not that big - probably about 80ft - but that's definitely the kind of scale Paultons needs for a next step.

Has anyone on here done any coding/computer programming?

Someone once taught me a bit of HTML, and I made a very basic website - this was around the year 2000, I suppose. I was actually asked to make websites for a couple of other people and organisations, because I'd made one myself. 🤣 I'm laughing because I really knew very little about it. Ah...

Universal's Epic Universe | Orlando USA | Theme Park

Apologies if there are separate threads for the coasters, but Hiccup's Winged Gliders looks great:

I’m questioning if I’m a real coaster enthusiast or not

As far as I'm concerned, labels are for clothes. I was probably a theme park enthusiast in the 1980s, a roller coaster enthusiast in the 2000s and more of a theme park enthusiast again now. We all adapt to whatever circumstances we're in at the time, but if you're interested, you're...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Another excellent update from Dispatch_Jack, the best one yet, I'd say. There's lots of detail, including red and blue markers on the Go-Karts site, and a marker for the overall ground level of the themed area. Hopefully before long we'll see footers, which could give us another clue about the...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Out of interest, has anyone done an overlay of real wooden coaster track and compared it to the one on the gate? To my untrained eye, it looks exactly the same proportions. Personally, I think the inverted logo and metal rails on the wooden gate are real clues, but we'll see.

Halloween and spooky season; what are your thoughts?

I've never been a fan, for three reasons: Firstly, Trick or Treating. There used to be a genuine level of threat and blackmail to this. Groups of youths would actually do something unpleasant if you didn't answer your door or give them anything. It would certainly be something you'd rather...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

It's a possibility, yeah. That would be a good idea, actually, as not everyone likes inversions. Two coasters sharing one structure - one, a genuine wooden-tracked family coaster and the other a Titan-tracked extreme coaster. That would be excellent. If they made sure their next water ride...
