    My handful of coaster questions...

^ I considered that possibility as well; but come on we're talking just one extra car; they couldn't have made the station just a little longer to fit it in? There seems to be plenty of room for it. Come on, it's Leviathan! :) We're talking larger elements, taking up lots of space etc. 8 cars =...

    My handful of coaster questions...

Also: why does Leviathan only have 8 cars instead of 9? I thought B&M's standard for this style was to have 9 cars e.g. Apollo's Chariot, Nitro and Silver Star to name a few. Moreover, it seems to make more sense that they would have chosen 9 for a giga like Leviathan as it would seem more...

    Good things come in pairs?

Uh, yes. See my reasons/exceptions; one of them is: I am aware I could be overgeneralizing this idea  Yep, refer to the case with what would have been iPod vs. Zune. I guess Microsoft just couldn't compete with Apple's concept of portable MP3 player so as to why they opted out of the...

    My handful of coaster questions...

Wow! You guys are getting pretty technical here, which is cool :) Next question: Anyone know the height of Alpengeist's cobra roll, from base to apex? It looks to be on the larger side for its type/element. I'm rly curious about this. I'd guesstimate it to be around 90ft (which would stand a...

    Good things come in pairs?

Might there be a universal pattern that for every major company/product/corporation etc there seems to be another major one that can match in rank/competition? I know the idea seems kind of vague and ambiguous, at least for a few reasons 1) there may even be a third/fourth/etc entity that can...

Six Flags Magic Mountain | "Full Throttle" | multi launch

Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain | "Full Throttle" | multi launc Just visited the official page and... omg! That is so innovative/original! Coaster track both above and below the same spine!? Incredible. Never woulda imagined such a concept. This is pretty cool.

    Roller Coasters = Eye Candy?

Yes, it is. True! Haha, I know what you mean! I second everything there.

    Most painful brake runs?

Same thing with Ka I'd imagine? Maybe not as quick though due to larger parabolic transition.

    Roller Coasters = Eye Candy?

I know we all like to ride them, but do you find them fascinating to look at? Or do you just like riding them? I absolutely love looking at them, especially watching the trains as they travel the layouts. I could do that all day too, just as I can with riding them :) Hbu?

Stuff you would like to see

As for park-specific, Cedar Point definitely lacks a bit in variety, at least compared with other competing parks (e.g. SFGA or SFMM). Where's their B&M flyer? Dive machine? Floorless? Hybrid (e.g. Voyage)? Euro-Fighter? 10+ inversions? What about a ZacSpin? In all honesty, I don't think...

The 26 year wait for a ride.

Apollo's Chariot, wanted to ride it 9 years before I actually got to.

    Confessions on a Coaster Forum

I don't think CP has been innovative enough.

Rollercoasters that you wanted to ride, but got dismantled.

Re: Rollercoasters that you wanted to ride, but got dismantl Hypersonic XLC comes to mind.

    Most painful brake runs?

^ Really? I Didn't think Apollo's was that bad, even with three trains!

    Most painful brake runs?

Just wondering... Which coasters do you think have the most painful brake runs, be it a mid-course or a final (or other if applicable)? Technically speaking, the ones with the greatest negative (-) g-forces via linear acceleration? Of the ones I've personally ridden, I'd have to say...

    My handful of coaster questions...

OH! But wait... you also have to note that Kingda Ka's launch is actually quicker, reaching its maximum speed within a shorter period of time (3.5s vs. 4s on TTD). That would help to explain it as well :)

    My handful of coaster questions...

Yeah! No wonder these things have been described as being "engineering nightmares"!
  18. ava1enzue1a

    Well, I never knew that!

To launch an extra 8mph faster and 36 ft. taller, Kingda Ka requires nearly twice as much horsepower than Top Thrill Dragster!

    My handful of coaster questions...

Interesting! Quite ironic as it is only 36 ft. taller! Thanks for that one Hyde. And UC, as always - thanks again for your feedback/explanations :)
