Small Polish theme Mandoria are adding a family coaster this season - Apparently a Gerstlauer bob according to RCDB - only the 2nd installation of this ride type. At first glance thought it might have been an ABC rides tube coaster.
Park looks very well themed too - one to watch...
Just came across this ride.... and what stuck me was the Intamin style track! Not listed on RCDB - so not a cred (or is it), Boats and track look similar to the Atlantis water ride at Gardaland!
I keep thinking an Egyptian theme would be perfect.....I mean it's in a freakin Pyramid for starters!!! They could easily make a compelling 'Poor man's revenge of the mummy' - long excavation corridors leading to mine-train/excavation cart carriages..... then have a laser tunnel on the lift hill...
I must admit I actually like the choice and sliding scale of experiences that a certain capitalist approach brings! I don't make that much money at all - but appreciate the options of buying into more exclusive or 'luxury' experiences - and having 'aspirational' goals - such as saving up for...
Efteling has a somewhat socialist set up.... or more of a community/charity one. I can't remember the exact set up - but the park is run by some sort of board/Charity - I believe it is one of the reasons they invest heavily in quality and things other parks wouldn't dream of like a few million...
Hmmmmm I did forget to mention the restaurant in my review.... whilst the pizzas some of the others had looked decent quality.... the chicken i had was very anaemic!! They had already gotten my order once wrong and the first wrong order looked the same! So maybe be mindful of WHAT you order there!
It felt like a Blackpool backstreet! - I couldn't think of a more depressing sight - considering Surrey is a lovely county - with lots of pleasant views and walks and countryside - it seems at odds that someone would pay to go into a place of this quality (yeah i know people go for the rides...
It was great to be back at a Park - despite not being a big fan of modern Thorpe, one of the reasons being is that it makes me sad at what it used to be (see Emily's photo above of the arcade games outside a once palatial facade! - HOWEVER, you can't deny their line-up of coasters and flats...
How do you know this?
of the three you mention I could see a disk'O - themed to 'knights of the round table' fitting in well... not sure about a topspin if I'm honest!
I actually think they have come leaps and bounds - and not so sure they are still considered 'just a kiddie park' anymore, and would say they have elbowed themselves into being one of the top 15 - if not top 10 theme parks in Europe, which is no small feat when you consider they are (only) 20...
Before Troy and the outdoor expansion there were plans for a 3rd Warehouse with the idea that with each - the offerings would target a slightly different age group and thrill bracket.... 1st for small kids......2nd for older kids etc.......
With the space they have I don't see why they...
They need to get on and build their long awaited hotel next me thinks, which I think would help increase those visiting numbers, I mean there are smaller parks with hotels already - and I think Tover could do something unique.
I could image Toverland being one of the few non-IP based park...
Lol - NOW, as much I hope Hansa doesn't get sold, IF it was to be sold - MACK would in fact be fab (still family owned) and Europa being Europa - they'd be the best bet in keeping the right 'flavor' and not ruin the park!
Weirdly - the fan forums had basically poo-poo'd the rumours - and basically said 'end of discussion'.
So I posted the looopings article.... as no one else had or referred to it - and my post got deleted...... so seems a bit strange to shut down discussion like that..... unless the moderators...
Taking a look at discussions (via google translate) over on haha-forum - the official/unoffical Hansa fan group and forum, it seems people are pretty unanimous that this is a rumour from a unreliable/trouble making source and this rumour seems to raise it's head almost every couple of years. I...
Yeah (great points by the way) I think what I meant more is not are theme parks actually socialist/Capitalist themselves as an entity - but more about how they are viewed or would be viewed in different socio-political climates? Are there political climates that simply wouldn't allow theme parks...
Hey thanks for taking my random shower-thought post seriously guys - really interesting responses, defiantly makes more sense and food for thought ( yet nothing I'll loose sleep over).
