Reposting the full size pic if anyone can't see the previous post properly ;)
I'm also sad to report Mystic will not be operating in time for opening day. According to the official website, the park plans a June 2019 opening (French: " Ouverture en juin 2019")...
I checked with the owner of the pictures, Arnaud B (hashtaged in the FB post above). He does give StarParc.be pictures with permission to reuse. In this case at least, it's fair use from those formerly known as Wonder World.
Super exciting thread!
My pick would be Harry Traver's Crystal Beach Cyclone:
Crazy tight turns, very forceful layout with agressive banking that wouldn't be attempted again on a wooden coaster until the Intamin Prefabs and Gravity Group's of the mid-00s.
This was from 1926!
Found this...
It's a basic Arrow loopscrew on paper, but I'm intrigued as this one has smoother looking transitions and many features of late Arrow designs. The curved crossties, support style and aforementioned banking reminds me of Tennessee Tornado.
Built in 1995 and I wonder how much input Alan Schilke...
Is this like the first ever Hyper Coaster to get scrapped? Can't think of another one actually - well except maybe Son of Beast which was its own thing...
Now I think about it, what are the chances of a Blue Fire-style Heartline Roll? We never got that on an RMC so far - only Zero-G-ish Rolls and Corkscrews - and that would be a good way to reach the 5 inversion record.
Not sure what to think about the inversion record. Upside-downness is not my favourite thing on RMCs (save for Stalls, these are awesome!) and I'm concerned the number of inversions will reduce the amount of airtime hills on the layout. Curious to see if Alan Schilke came up with some really...
Sad but true. Still love a good Intamin any day tho <3
Actually enjoyed the turning around parts of Xcelerator, although I agree they don't do much. It's quite unfortunate Intamin retired Hydrolic launches (unless a customer really wants one?), I'd be happy to have a new one with a fab launch...
Love the colours! It's a striking and vibrant pink, but does not look too flashy or cheap either. Curious to see it match with the surrounding theme.
Glad that you took some precautions with crediting the source @CrashCoaster . After a not so quick research, it appears the original source is...
Quite curious to find out the actual layout, especially if it is indeed Intamin. They seem to gradually further step up their game in terms of intensity and crazy elements (from Hyperion which had some innovative moments for a Hyper to Walibi Belgium 2021 going super bold with RMC-like stuff)...
Coaster that mostly rely on one single gimmick/spectacular element aren't generally viewed as the best ride experiences overall. But do you think there are exceptions? Are there short, but very memorable and fun coasters with one big outstanding moment?
I'm a fan of snappy launches - think...
Not expecting too much from this as it is not very high nor long, but it could be very decent fun if taken with the right speed - especially the L-shaped hills.
Rode both a fair amount of times (62x Lech and 8x Hyperion) and I clearly prefer Lech Coaster - though I might be an outlier. For me Lech is so much more consistent with its intensity, although Hyperion has that great snappy Twist n' Dive element.
Winjas aside, I believe that would be the first.
As you may know, Intamin actually already showed an animated concept for a New gen Spinner back at EAS 17, with also a Tilt Track element another option:
(Pics 1 and 2 are from myself, and the last one comes from Kirmes & Park)
Quite curious...
Not sure if this has been posted here before, but Nagashima Spaland has posted a rough full on-ride animation on their FB page lately:
Man, two Outward-Banked Turns, the Stall, and the airtime-filled ride with no MCBR... Looks fab!
I'm curious to hear what makes you so sure about that - I don't have confirmation about height restrictions, but considering Formula and Lech are only 120cm, as well as the upcoming Suspended Thrill Coasters, I wouldn't rule out a lower height limitation for F.L.Y. as well. Vekoma clearly seems...
Late to the party but 2018 has been amazing for me!
Highlights include:
- Steel Vengeance yay! So. Much... Airtime :o
- Walk-on Maverick at night...
- Getting my 200th cred on Hyperion and riding along with Silvarret :)
- Walk-on Nemesis for my first day at Alton <3
- Riding Troy with my eyes...
