Who would go to Six Flags Quiddiya?

Personally I'm not that bothered about visiting. Not particularly a political decision, but I'd sooner tick off more parks in the US, Asia and a few remaining decent parks in Europe I've still not got round to. I can appreciate the worry and trepidation that members LGBTQ+ would have in...

    Your favourite coaster track

Does anyone else have a fondness for a particular manufacturers track design? Seeing a new B&M always makes me a bit excited, regardless of whether it's highly rated or not. I still remember the first time I encountered Oblivion in the flesh, which was the first B&M coaster I'd laid eyed on in...

Do you prefer a Chinese or Indian takeaway?

Very much mood based. When opting for an Indian, I mainly just stick to one curry and pilau rice. Usually a madras, dopiaza or bhuna. Peshwari naan on the side. If we decide on a Chinese, my partner and I tend to go for the mix and match, buffet style. We get a range of things from beef in...

With Apocalypse closed, what is the UK's new scariest ride?

The Big One is still probably the most intimidating ride for the British general public on average. I think that would be the case regardless of whether Apocalypse was still around or not. Maybe, if we're being morbid, The Smiler due to the unfortunate accident in 2015.

    Most underrated uk coaster

I don't really think there are many great coasters in the UK for many to be underrated to be honest. That said, I'd probably opt for Revolution. It's still pretty smooth, intense and unique. A classic coaster that hasn't really worn over time. It's an easy bang for buck, thrill wise. Does...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Should be noted that FLY's construction thread began back in mid 2016, a solid 4 years prior to the ride opening, and has continued several pages after opening. This thread has been going for 2 years now and mainly consisted of rumours and mud. The good stuff has only just started ;)

This. But even saying that, a 236ft coaster in Germany would still turn heads and get people talking. It's just accentuated over here by our reasonably lacklustre line up.

    Best Upcoming Coaster for 2024?

Annoyingly?! I'm gutted for you mate, having to revisit that awfully decent park 😉

    Best Upcoming Coaster for 2024?

Well, as a UK based enthusiast, it sorta has to be Hyperia. New Mack, new height record and a rather different coaster style for the UK. We don't get that kind of product over here very often at all.

    WTF BPB?

I'll be honest, I have paid little attention to Journey to Hell but I have noticed that the general consensus is that it's pretty crap. My question is, for 40 quid, how long are you there and what do you actually 'do'?

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Throughput is key when it comes to ride duration remarks, particularly from the GP. If something is like walk on - 10 mins wait, there isn't a lot of time to anticipate the ride experience. When you start queuing for 30+ mins, the patience wears thin (GP mainly). I think this also highlights...

Any idea on the height of this element, out of interest?

Has a weird resemblance to Stealth to me. It's like being back in the construction thread of '05.

Your most memorable journeys to and/or from parks

I knew it was coming Howie. I've still got the mental image of us desperately glugging the remainder of the recovery guy's warm, flat energy drink in a desperate attempt to hydrate. You'd have thought we'd been in the Sahara for 3 days. And to think we were still considering being towed to...

In this instance, size does matter. That view across the lake is really going to be something.

    Your favourite city

Whilst I'm sat here procrastinating at work I thought it'd be interesting to gauge what CF members favourite cities are. Tough call for myself personally but I reckon I have to give it to NYC, narrowly beating Florence and Utrecht. It's chaotic, gritty in places and often discredited as...

The glaring option in my opinion is a big, new dark ride. Said it before but something along the lines of Symbolica would fit AT like a glove. Perfect for families, great for the unpredictable weather, capacity wouldn't be much of an issue. It'd be a fab opportunity to hone in on the essence...
