    Own any coaster parts?

^ I love the effort to get that home. Very impressed! I have a few coaster parts these days... I have pieces of wood from: - Hurricane formerly at Myrtle Beach Pavilion - Racer at Kennywood - Silver Comet at Fantasy Island - Wooden Warrior at Quassy - Starliner formerly at Miracle Strip Park...

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

The themed entertainment and resort industry is still cranking at the moment. Lots of projects in construction and even more in design at the moment. I'm sure we'll see a slowdown in a few years, but I don't think it's happening yet.

unknown intamin lsm found on rcdb

The concept art seems pretty accurate to the layout. The ride is sitting in pieces in Oman, but the project was officially cancelled the other week, so you won't be seeing this go up here. Hopefully another park will pick the ride up on a discount and can install it elsewhere. A shame since...

Arabian Nights: Exploring the Coasters of Saudi Arabia (Part 10)

Saturday May 11, 2024 On what would be my last day of picking up coasters on this visit to Saudi, I mixed in a few stops while visiting prospective apartments. In what was very quickly identified as a "poor choice", I made the decision to walk from the housing complex I was visiting about 1...

Arabian Nights: Exploring the Coasters of Saudi Arabia (Part 10)

Friday, May 10, 2024 My second day of exploring Riyadh pushed me a little further than last time. I haven't wanted to take any very long Uber rides thus far-- I'd rather wait till I have my car. But stop #1 was about 20 minutes south of my hotel at the Panorama Mall. As far as malls go, this...

Arabian Nights: Exploring the Coasters of Saudi Arabia (Part 10)

I'm currently on a business trip in Saudi Arabia ahead of moving here for my job in about a month. I'll be living in Riyadh, but there will be plenty of time to explore the rest of country. We all know about Six Flags coming next year, but there's a fair number of smaller coaster scattered...

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Happy I don't count powered coasters, so I don't have to worry about this Spike thing. I'll still ride it, but it's not at all a priority. I'll ride the real coasters first!

    Last Cred Review

It's not even that as much as it is logo and other branded asset designs. The DNA for the particular brand is already established. So it's an easy way to reuse when there's not a lot of cross contamination from your average guest visiting multiple places as you point out.

    Last Cred Review

^ Mako is an amazing ride. One of my personal favorites in Florida and not just because I worked on it! I have hundreds of laps on that coaster! Latest cred for me was yesterday, having swung by SeaWorld Abu Dhabi on the way to Saudi Arabia. What an incredible park, first off. Perhaps the...

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

They have quite a lot to go to make Q4 soft opening this year. I would expect mid 2025 is a more likely expectation. That said, it does seem to have ramped up construction. We should be seeing a number of updates this week on this and other Saudi projects. The Saudi Entertainment...

    Honey Lake Entertainment City

Still disappointed in myself for not swinging by while I was in Shenzhen back in 2014. I've found this coaster's layout oddly interesting despite being very plain. Can't imagine it'll stay up for too long with the development in the area, but I guess it's made it this far. Nice pictures.

    SeaWorld Orlando | Penguin Trek | B&M Family Launch Coaster | 2024

May 1st? Not a chance, unfortunately. If it's just started testing now, there's a ways to go.

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

You'd think so, but you have bolt torque, grouting, stator alignment, final install of all electrical including I/O checks, pull through, and more. All of this will still take quite some track. Once track completion is done that's a very big step, but it's by no means home free. Lots still to do.

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Yes, but you're looking at the track only. There's quite a lot to go once the track is complete.

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Very impressive. This is one of those things I never really expected to see. The project always seemed too ambitious and I've seen funding for things like this dry up so many times. But to actually see the hill completed is incredible. They've got a long way to go, but this is a big step.

    Your worst spite

My worst is the Ultra Twister at Rusutsu Resort. So much effort to get there and the very first park of our Japanese coaster trip only to find it shut for the season early. Hopefully one day I'll get back...

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

Another update out of KSA for Six Flags Saudi: it will have the world's tallest drop tower. Looks like it's going to be an S&S tower-- I would assume a turbo drop-- at a staggering 475' tall. That's going to beat the record, but I pretty good margin. Judging by the size of the tower, this is...

If you count coasters, what is your most tenuous counted roller coaster?

I don't count powered or mountain, which eliminates a lot of issues for me. The two biggest ones are probably the gravity powered wooden wild mouse type ghost trains at Conneaut Lake and Camden Park. RCDB delisted these a while ago, but they coaster uphill by gravity, run on/in a track, and...

Six Flags Qiddiya | Saudi Arabia | Theme Park

I'm very excited for this park and not just because I'm going to be living about 30 minutes away from this park when it opens. Beyond Falcon's Flight, which despite potential layout blandness is likely to be pretty incredible, you've got the GCI, the launched Intamin with the spike, the...

Hot Hot Heat - UAE Fall 2022

I have no shame in the process. It was fantastic and we also didn't die in any questionable ride accidents yet.
