Small News From The Theme Park Industry

I hadn't heard about this. Do you know what happened? I was surprised that the first drop of all spots would hold priority on titan track installation. I suppose the bottom and the following turn receive plenty of wear and tear, but there are other spots along the layout that are much rougher...

    Rank the B&M Hyper coasters

Gotta go through the rest of these threads which require updating. Haven't posted here since 2021, so I have some new stuff, but since then I actually managed to reride all the others except Diamondback. 1. Fury 325 - Redemption rides proved itself worthy. It's fast and its long. The giga...

Legoland Deutschland | Maximus: Flight of the Guardian| B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

Did they confirm what the required height will be for this one?

Legoland Deutschland | Maximus: Flight of the Guardian| B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

I don't know. It looks nice aesthetically but the ride kinda looks pretty poor? Throwing in two slow inversions basically means it's not family friendly anymore (RCDB even lists this as an extreme category). If it didn't go upside down and was just a standard family coaster it'd be fine. But if...

Parc Astérix | Toutatis | Intamin Launch Coaster | 2023

I'm hoping it rides more like the first inversion of Pantheon, or the first two on VelociCoaster: slow rolls but very playful with both the hangtime the way it moves you around. Not like gross hangtime you get on a jojo roll. What I also like about those moments is that they start out at a...

Parc Astérix | Toutatis | Intamin Launch Coaster | 2023

That moment when Toutatis was never gonna be the first Intamin swing launch to begin with. 😛 Soaring with Dragon would like a word. That said, seeing the layout reveal was around the time we started to see more of those launched bunny hill concepts that you now see on Copperhead and of course...

Parc Astérix | Toutatis | Intamin Launch Coaster | 2023

Yeah, the moment it stops on the brakes and starts moving again is where it looks like they sped it up there. Otherwise, there's nowhere else earlier where I'm led to believe it's sped up, especially knowing the crawl out into the first launch looks about right.

Parc Astérix | Toutatis | Intamin Launch Coaster | 2023

Yeah, this is what Pantheon wishes it was. It's already going at a great speed too. Forgot about that final inversion towards the end. That'll be some serious whip!

SeaWorld Orlando | Pipeline: The Surf Coaster | B&M Surf Coaster | 2023

I'm really curious to see how those hills ride. I don't see there being enough airtime to lift up your legs from the board, though perhaps more some relief on the legs. It seems like that person is holding themselves up after a little hop. Could be dicey on the knees when you "land" and are...

SeaWorld Orlando | Pipeline: The Surf Coaster | B&M Surf Coaster | 2023

Lol it's not even open yet and we're already at the point of giving up on the standup position. That person seems to be taking it a little too far though... think I'd rather maintain the ability to have children.

Fun Spot Atlanta | ArieForce One | RMC IBox Steel Coaster | 2023

It's already running real good in that last one. This thing is gonna be absolutely hauling in the summer.

Fun Spot Atlanta | ArieForce One | RMC IBox Steel Coaster | 2023

Hmmm, shell out hundreds of dollars for the PRIVLEGE of being one of the "first" to ride? Or wait a few days and just get an easy zen ride and whore it up? Oh the dilemma.

Hornets, heatwaves and Hooters- 10 days in the US

Only time I've noticed this was at Farup Sommerland with their woodie. No trash, but a couple of (relatively full) plastic water bottles had fell on the tracks in the station. They kept cycling the ride though; I found it kinda funny that they just didn't care.

    Rank the GCIs

I'm aware, but at this point it's more of a GCI over CCI, much like Phanny is a Morgan over an Arrow. Regardless, it's fun to include it in the ranking.

Mack Launches or a Lift Hill?

Just comparing the feeling of the two elements, the launches you get on something like Copperhead and Helix aren't as exciting as a punchy drop like Fonix or Lightning Run. Taken out of context, the drop wins. Thing is, Mack launches are more function over substance, and lift hills don't really...

    Rank your Ridden B&M Inverts

Other way around for me! The front had much more positive g's compared to the back. The back was still intense, but felt more typical like other inverts, while the front was a surprise. The upward helix at the end makes more sense at the front too, as your position in relation to the train...

    Rank your Ridden B&M Inverts

Man it's been a couple years since I've updated this one. Some new things and also some changes. 1. Nemesis - It's the second best B&M I've ever done with some of my favorite inversions on any ride. Thought it was perfect at the time, but it's been nine years so it's due for a revisit, but I...

    Rank the GCIs

Some new stuff. 1. Renegade - Great layout with some surprising moments, mixed with the perfect amount of woodie aggression. Definitely the best I've done so far. 2. Mystic Timbers - A bit smoother than above but still maintains that aggression. Has the best setting and another fantastic...
