Yeah, the space they had to work with was very small.
I'm excited to see exactly what the layout will look like, and then figuring out what they're doing exactly.
Thing is, even if it doesn't go round more than once, it's a massive upgrade on Dragon Chinois, which was more lift hill than...
It stalled on 19th June, reopened on 22nd (on one train), and then back to two on 23rd.
The recovery period potentially took slightly longer as they had to create a concrete base for the crane equipment to sit on. With that now in place, it shouldn't take too long. It's more a case of when they...
I don't recall ever hearing a specific wind speed announcement, just a generic "current weather conditions may force us to close".
However, according to Thorpe themselves, the max wind gust speed Hyperia can operate in is 47mph, which is the highest on park. That will be a number coming from...
On Sunday during the CF Live, the ride was running fine with people on. It then shutdown for 5 minutes, a train was sent empty, and it then crawled through the outerbank twisted dive. This was just after 5pm, and with the wheel heaters being a thing.
Obviously not running for a few minutes...
They do.
They do tests with trains completely filled with dummies. Then they empty 1-2 rows' worth of dummies, remove the dummies, and repeat until they clear the train, then do a test run completely empty.
They've done that every day for months.
They have even built scaffolding behind the...
I said on the Live it was going to stall again soon. I hate that I was right.
Coasters run slower in poorer weather conditions, but this is a bit of a concern. Extra concerning it happened when there 3 rows of dummies on it.
Oooo, the last time I posted in this thread, I had 3 Intamin launches. Now I've got 21...

Yes, massive thanks to Serena for organising, and to everyone who attended for making it a top day.
Some highlights:
-CF taking over a whole Hyperia train in the morning
-The faffle being excellent as always
-Winning the Thorpe quiz (who else? ;) ) - I'll treasure the Mack and B&M brochures...
I was there a week before Dynamite opened, foolishly thinking that 12th May would be "Spring enough" for the originally advertised 'Spring opening'. So maybe I'm a bit petty in my thoughts
The Dynamite area looked nice enough, but not a saving grace aesthetically. Also agree on El Toro, bang on.
The trouble I had with Plohn on my visit a few years back was that whilst it seemed like a good park on paper, much of it felt tacky, cheap or otherwise a bit naff.
Whilst again this seems like a fine addition on paper, I hope that we get something which lives up that expectation in execution...
I'm not keen on the name, but I like the idea they're going for with the logo/brand. So yeah, great idea but the landing hasn't quite stuck.
I love Walibi Holland's brand and idea. They've gone all in with it and it just works for them. It won't be to everyone's taste, but it's solid.
Also, 6...
For now, there's no need for Merlin to do anything with their hydraulic launch coasters.
They own 3 of them (Stealth, Rita and Desert Race), so they have shared expertise across the group. It probably also means they have a good level of rapport with suppliers for spare parts.
For Stealth, it...
Part of me doesn't even want to post a random rumour from a random Twitter user, but I have seen it in a couple of places now.
There's some talk of Kingda Ka being removed at the end of next year from SFGAd.
The rumour goes that the high operating and maintenance cost are off-putting...
