Since they already have a relationship with Vekoma (and considering Vekoma's excellent safety record which is what the park needs), if Drayton got a copy of Lech coaster AND Formula from Energylandia, I'd probably visit this place the most for the foreseeable future.
But I agree with many posts...
It's probably an uncommon opinion amongst most coaster enthusiasts these days but maybe not so much the general public, probably many will just accept it for what it is (like Infusion). The Grand National is a very harsh coaster now. And it can sometimes really feel as if the train falls down...
Always wanted to go to Magic Mountain ever since seeing Colossus (now Twisted Colossus) and Revolution in Lampoon's Vacation as a kid. Didn't manage to get there when I was a teenager visiting California with my parents in the 90s.
I think MM was on the itinerary of RCCGB's 2020 US trip, which...
My current top 10:
1 Taron (Phantasialand)
2 Untamed (Walibi Holland)
3 Big One (Blackpool Pleasure Beach)
4 Troy (Toverland)
5 Black Mamba (Phantasialand)
6 Stealth (Thorpe Park)
7 Goliath (Walibi Holland)
8 Rock N' Roller Coaster (Disney Paris - Farewell ?)
9 Big Thunder Mountain (Disney...
I was told by a moderator to post in this thread regarding the studios expansion. Coaster Chall made a thread about the Frozen celebrations where he briefly mentioned the expansion which I commented on.
To be honest I never look at threads more than a few days old myself so understand your point.
Surprised people feel that way about ToT. I'm probably old hat. But to me it's easily the best thing about the Studios park which is in quite a poor condition now with all the fences around everywhere.
ToT really has that eerie feeling that I think is timeless. I sadly get the impression that...
Since there is very little progress with that area (if any) I just think it is quite possible Star Wars will be dropped from the line up. Maybe there will be more Pixar stuff instead. If Rise of Skywalker doesn't take in at least 1 billion you can forget it for sure as surely it would be a...
I think it's more the release of the Frozen 2 movie that is the reason for the celebration.
Given how long it is taking them to fix a stupid boring elephant carousel or refurbish a car ride I wouldn't get my hopes up new lands will be there that soon. I think it will be closer to the Paris...
Untamed (Walibi Holland)
Superb. I had high expectations and these were all met. Excellent design, love several RMC bends I've seen from POVs and this one had one at the end of the outback section. Excellent inversions. I'm a RMC convert. The drum music as you leave the station is a great touch...
Most European coaster fans don't have the means to get out to the States to ride an RMC. They are scattered about quite far apart from each other from what I can see. Even the single one we had before Untamed in Kolmarden, Sweden is a bitch to get to and didn't feature the RMC Ibox track.
I've been playing this a bit. Quite like the Disneyland Paris Rock N Roller Coaster one. And with that closing in less than two weeks playing this is making me feel very nostalgic. The sounds especially are great and makes you think you are there.
I wonder how ridesims will cope with the...
1. Stealth (Probably my second favourite UK coaster after the Big One at BPB)
2. Nemesis Inferno. (Really good, probably not as good as Nemesis but it seems smoother but both easily got beaten by Black Mamba for me, the close proximity encounters are mental and ending in complete darkness is...
Same. Until I rode Untamed I thought RMCs looked great but will probably just be inversion overkill on a smooth-ish wooden coaster and would never be as exciting as a hyper, giga or Intamin launcher. Untamed really wow-ed me and made me a RMC convert. Untamed was instantly in the top 3 coasters...
The Nemesis one is pretty good though, but not as good as Liseberg's indeed. A proper close expertly piloted one of an RMC would be good. Maybe Untamed. Probably easier than that massive Zadra.
The Parc Asterix coaster?
That one looks quite intense and seems to have that typical RMC inverted stall for a longish section that Zadra has. Will probably see more manufacturer's do that I guess.
Yeah not seeing much for less than £300 or so. Think it will have to wait till Sept / Oct.
(Your favourite coaster list is almost exactly same as mine btw (but still have to make it to PortAventura and my BA flight got cancelled to Gothenburg for Liseberg a month ago).)
What stands out to me are the three low to the ground sweeping moments. There will be so much speed there. Very different from Untamed. This will be and feel much faster. As it has less ejector airtime pops (which I found can be a bit painful after 5 or so goes in a row on Untamed) it probably...
It doesn't surprise me they want to push this asap to still get the tail end of the summer visitors but indeed it is much sooner than most of us suspected just a few days ago.
I have 1 last potential European trip I can do. I'm looking at Energylandia and PortAventura but just don't know when...
