Tayto Park "Coaster Craic" trip reports August 2015

I'm sat here eating a jacket potato for lunch in celebration of our fab weekend! The park itself is lovely. The new area is a bit tarmac-tastic, but they've done their best to tart it up with potted plants here and there. The area over by the zoo certainly feels a lot more bedded in, so...

Duinrell to get a Gerstlauer Sky Fly for 2016

This sounds like a great idea to me. 3rd Gerst attraction at the park (I think? Unless there's more I'm missing?) and they must be one of the few places that seem to have got on ok with them. These provide good solid family thrills which slots in perfectly with the rest of the park's offering...

Liva Italia II - June 2015 - Trip Reports

I barely took any photos on the whole trip, so this is going to be short and sweet from me... Day 0 - Rainbow Magicland There was a late night special event with a concert and fireworks at the park on this day. As a result, we were all a bit concerned about how busy it'd be. Thankfully, the...

"The Greatest Dinosaur Ride In The World" For USJ

Where in the park is this? I'd assume it's over by the existing JP water ride? If so, have they removed something to make it fit or are they managing to shoehorn it in somehow? Edit: Apparently the whole JP area is closed from May 11th, 2015 -- July 10th, 2015. Apart from the flying coaster...

I think the vineyard queue and the exit through the wine bar are slight clues too

    Dreamland Margate News

I think it's more about the era they're trying to re-create. They seem to be going going for more of a 50s/60s vibe. Bringing back rides from the 80s/90s wouldn't really fit with the theme/atmosphere they're going for.

Kent, England | The London Resort | Entertainment Complex

I don't understand how they think a shopping/restaurant/cinema type complex will be a good idea when it's just over the road from Bluewater. Even they have their events space now, so it would seem that it's only the hotels and rides making it a worthwhile enterprise. Why not just concentrate on...

Thorpe Park | Derren Brown's Ghost Train | VR Attraction

Re: Thorpe Park construction? Darren, In total you probably give Merlin, what, about £250 a year with your "membership" and food etc. Those of us who buy our passes outright will probably spend a bit less than £200 in an entire 12 month period. I suspect that the average family probably spends...

New wood arrives for Scenic Railway, Dreamland, Margate

I popped into Margate yesterday. Whilst I was there, I took a visit to the park Expo, and went for a little nose at the scenic. Trip report here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38418 For what it's worth, from what I've seen so far, I think this will be a success. They're being very careful to keep the...

    Dreamland Expo

On Sunday 2nd November, I took a trip to the Dreamland Expo in Margate. The exhibition takes place in the newly appointed "Visitor & Learning Arcade", housed in the original cinema building on the seafront. It's aim is to allow people to reminisce about the park's past, whilst also giving...

Bavarian beer, creds and culture - Sep 2014

THE SIGN OF SHAME! This the absolute best way of dealing with people getting their phones/cameras out on rides. He shoved the sign right in her face, then walked along the platform, following the train still holding the sign in her face. When it came to a halt, he quickly told her off before...

Bavarian beer, creds and culture - Sep 2014

Yay for Peep PTRs <3 The singular existing photo does absolutely no justice to how utterly ridiculous my dismount from the Arthur slide actually was. It was a proper you've been framed moment. I flew off the end of the slide and stayed lying down completely flat in mid air before dropping to...
