Completely agree - looking at the brake run I’m assuming this one will be on two trains.
This seems mad, but I do appreciate the diversification - my 35 year old brother bloody loves Lego but I’ve always been put off going (admittedly to Windsor) because of the ride selection and reputation for...
Moving away from this indoor attraction for a moment as water rides have been brought up - I genuinely wonder whether climate change will result in a new modern water ride getting built.
I don’t really buy the seasonal argument any more - we have much warmer springs and downright super hot...
I’ve often wondered what the solution to Baco is - the outer seats are indeed instant headache. It’s not the only rattly Intamin launch (I’d put Kingda Ka close in ride quality) but it’s notable that it’s the only wing coaster and obviously no other orders were forthcoming.
Does the existing...
This looks so good! Incredible they were able to fit it in - it’ll be such a dynamic viewing experience for non-riders and those in the queue, not to mention great for those on it especially if the timing works out with a coaster train passing.
I wonder how long this has been in the planning -...
Indeed thanks @Indy for the informative post. I’d thought I’d read in the past that Gerstlauer don’t bolt their supports down at all even below the poured concrete, just relying on the concrete itself to hold them in place. I’d never seen the shear plate though - does its existence mean there...
Why not? There are over 6 months to go, and they’re making good progress. Sure it’ll slow down in winter but it will be a quick coaster to assemble given its short length, then a few months for landscaping and remaining theming.
Bit gutted to see this, especially as I don’t know if I’ll ever get back to CP, but intrigued what will happen. The best launch I’ve ever been on and a world better than its successor at SFGA.
I’ve always thought that this is due to the speed you would hit the spiral. With the current layout...
I guess it will become clearer when we know what level the station is at - or do we already know that it’s on the first floor etc? It looks like there isn’t space between the footers for the track to drop between the supports if you know what I mean. Didn’t Thirteen also have quite a big pit...
Looks fantastic. I hope every one of the head-banging original boomerangs in the world gets replaced with one of these. I presume at least Walibi Belgium will get one to keep up their shuttle coaster count.
Ah thanks - that’ll teach me to read too fast! A seven hour return trip from Vienna? That’s commitment - not sure I can get away with that on a weekend trip to Vienna with my wife :p
Yes! Loved Ortobruco Tour! :D
Really enjoying these reports, thanks! What a mammoth trip. Only question I have so far - I can’t find Wild Train at Prater on RCDB - is it the old wooden coaster or something else?
Those MCBR trims! Way to kill the ride’s pacing, what a weak second half… I don’t see any benefit to that layout compare to something like Valkyria which is marginally shorter but keeps the pace and excitement up right to the final brake run.
I’m sure it’s been said before but Europa Park really needs this. I love the park but it needs something to elevate its coaster lineup from pretty good to really memorable - an interesting, unique coaster with multiple launches, outdoor-indoor transitions, track switches, a storyline etc will...
