New trains for Tomahawk & retrack for Stampida

Good to see further work taking place on Stampida, the first half of the blue side is much more enjoyable since the retrack, we just need those trains changing now!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach | Icon | Mack Multi-Launch

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2017 If we are lucky enough that the Grand Prix is removed as well, it may open up enough space for a huge development starting up where the Monorail station used to be. Pleasure Beach have a huge amount of space available to them if they have the money to...

PortAventura | Ferrari Land | New Area

Thanks for the updates Oriolat2, still wondering if this is going to be open next year or in 2017, I did email a contact at the park a few months ago who insisted it would be ready to open in 2016 but the press release attached to the email stated opening was 2017, so yeah confusing! It's...

    Accident at Alton Towers

Very true, CCTV for the ride staff is usually only the evacuation points if my memory serves me correctly. I am expecting Towers to be closed on Friday too.

    Trip Plans For 2015

Parc Asterix and DLP next week, PortAventura in August, Parque Warner in October. Plenty more usage out of my BPB season pass is likely too, I am hopeful of a weekend at Thorpe and Chessington too at some point.

Rides not up to the job

Rubbish. Odyssey's poor operation is purely down to the incompetence of the park rather than the ride itself, I was shocked how badly run Fantasy Island actually is. It's in the wrong location for its height and layout, the ride cannot be blamed for the weather, whoever decided to install it...

    Accident at Alton Towers

I've never been in the console of the Smiler but I would expect that they'd have some sort of CCTV in there to monitor the ride, it may not be CCTV that covers all of the ride though. It is 7 years since I worked for Towers now but during my time there, every ride I worked on had CCTV for the...

BPB | Red Arrows Sky Force | Gerstlauer Sky Fly

Wrong, speedy pass will be on Skyforce, just as it's an added extra on Nickelodeon Streak and the Grand National, the speedy pass system is becoming more and more popular at the Pleasure Beach because the queues just don't move like they once did. I am not sure I agree with Rob's comment about...

BPB | Red Arrows Sky Force | Gerstlauer Sky Fly

Speedy pass has become a real nuisance at Pleasure Beach actually, waiting for Skyforce with speedy pass in play will be a real pain which is why attending PBE's next event makes perfect sense haha. (Shameless plug I know). We've been doing some construction updates of Skyforce, there's very...

    Do you thank the ride-op?

I always thank the staff once the restraint has been checked whichever park I am at, I started doing it after working at Towers because it was good to know people appreciated what you were doing rather than assuming you're a robot in uniform.

Man breaks his neck on Grand National

Wehay, nice to see there is some common sense on the matter, the ride is clearly not to blame. The warning signs at the entrance are there for everyone to read, BPB can't be held responsible for people deciding to ride with injuries that they have already sustained elsewhere. I keep reading...

    Barcelona - Tibidabo y PortAventura

Easy, it's called having an opinion. I don't expect anyone to agree but out of Baco, Khan, Stampida and Shambhala, I'd put Shambhala as my 4th favourite. It may be the smoothest of the lot and have great airtime but it lacks intensity for me, it's too tame imo. All of that said, put it in most...

    Oakwood Updates

Re: Oakwood 2014 - New coaster? The last time I spoke with Oakwood over the phone regards to a PBE event, they did mention that they had been looking into buying Knightmare but hadn't pushed any sort of deal through, hopefully since that phone call things have changed and they've been able to...

    Madrid, PWM & PAM, 5-6 April 2014

Totally agree, the lack of investment in keeping the themes up to date is there for all to see with both the Superman and Batman 'areas' of the park which is a shame, but for some reason being a sad DC comic fan I still like the theme to them, just wish it was more up to date. Great reports...

    Madrid, PWM & PAM, 5-6 April 2014

Glad to see you all had a good trip, I enjoyed the updates from CF Twitter and PAC, good to see that another UK and Spanish community are getting along too, Club PBE and PortAventura&Friends have got a meetup planned in the summer, stuff like this should happen more often afterall we may not all...

    S&S Screamin Swings

I just wish Thorpe would run Rush on a decent cycle everytime I've been there in the last few years it hasn't been worth waiting for. I'd have liked to seen one of them at BPB too tbh.

Alton Towers to remove Submission - world rejoices! :)

Good decision by Towers, let's hope they make another decent decision when they come to replace it whenever that may be.

Is Thorpe Park's Asylum an appropriate theme?

I am disappointed that it has had to change, I just think if we are going to change something everytime anyone is offended we'll reach the point where things are labelled like they are on RCT, Scare Maze #1, Inverted Rollercoaster #3 etc. I accept that people are offended by it, but I think...

    Trip Plans For 2014

I'll be returning to Parque Warner in July, PortAventura in August for a week, plenty of trips to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and I'll make a return to Alton Towers after not visiting in 2013.
