Great report Smithy, the photos are brilliant!
I've been toying with the idea of doing one of the coaster walks for a while after doing the PMBO lift walk a few years ago, the price is off putting though.
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
He was, also featured a lot in the show that followed it, Forbidden.
He moved to their offices after all the shows got axed at the start of 2009.
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
More photos (I forgot these earlier); ride station, launch sub stations and transfer track/maintenance shed?
Tayto Park have been amazing to deal with when its come to arranging an event with them and for that I wish them all the success in the world with their park, very excited to see what they have planned for 2018.
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
I'm not sure if Matt has spotted these already, so apologies if that's the case, but are we seeing the first signs of where the ride exit shop is going to be?
By the game stalls next to where Turtle Chase used to be, there is clear markings for 'exit...
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
Nothing wrong with a couple of "Coming Soon - New Ride" spoilers in the area, it's something we see done by Merlin a lot and it's something BPB did with the promoting of PMBO and Valhalla.
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
I am shocked they've not started dropping spoilers about Project 2018, at the very least I hoped we'd see some signage up to suggest something is coming soon, it's the busiest part of the season for them, up until November they'll be busy at weekends...
Exactly, I've been accused of being over defensive about PortAv in the past and in some cases that may be true, but this is something I simply don't like the idea of and won't defend now I've seen it up close. It looks hideous from everywhere in the park that it can be seen, it goes against...
I arrived in Salou yesterday and I am really disappointed at just how much Ferrari Land is going to ruin the ambience of PortAventura, the flow of different themed sectors of the park is being ruined by an unsightly coaster with a hideously large Ferrari logo on it which can be seen from plenty...
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2018
Thankfully! I think it'd be unrealistic to expect it to have spinning cars, and isn't that a gimmick that's been over used now?
For the first time (even after seeing leaked info!), I am getting excited about this project, probably because it's...
It's probably something that's been asked plenty of times, but I haven't found any answers for it so I'll be a pain and ask, does anyone know when the full game is going to be released?
I agree with some of the comments made further back in the topic suggesting the early bird price is a bit...
Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates
That's really strange seeing JO in bright yellow, but I am glad they are taking care of it!
I don't know if anyone is heading there this weekend, but they haven't tested the coasters so far, so it will be a miracle if they are both open.
Hey, any ideas where PortAventura annual pass holders will come into this, will we have to pay extra to get into Ferrari Land or will they allow pass holders to go between the parks?
I am not taken in by the project at all, I feel PA can do so much better.
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2017
Nothing too exciting except some markings going down in the area, I put together a little video for PBE so people know where the markings are in relation to where the bridge was etc, hearing plenty of rumours that construction will start in August but...
I had my concerns about this project from day one and with every construction update I cringe a little bit more, PortAventura, what on earth are you thinking with this?
Very disappointing, my level of excitement for it has drained away completely. :(
I do really like the look of this, I've not really bothered moving on from RCT2 with coaster games, I found RCT3 far too annoying but I'd really like to give this a go, looking forward to its release!
Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Project 2017
I don't know if it was mentioned, but Amanda Thompson twice posted on Twitter to say nothing is happening for 2017, however there has been comments about a new bridge which I believe is almost constructed now, I am hopeful someone from Club PBE will...
The annoying claim culture and the rising costs of insurance for these types of attractions are probably the main factors, especially as they closed at a time when BPB axed a lot of rides and shows from their lineup. I can't imagine Noah's Ark or Trauma Towers would do well in the modern day...
