It caught fire during demolition. They were burning the wood after demolishing it and it got out of hand. The ride was doomed either way unfortunately.
Comparing Rocket/Black Hole to Blue Streak is like comparing nails with glass! Blue Streak felt like it was going to tear itself apart voluntarily! Hopefully the far superior of the two gets a new home. A strange move by the park.
"Hey we know you sued us and your coaster from us doesn't work but can you do us a little favour and have another one of these for a bit that you can't open at all this time?"
Obviously it's a bit more complex than that but it seems like a really weird turn of events. Do Maurer not have their...
Ah weird. My solo ride was earlier in the year so maybe the rule changed or it depends on how busy it is etc.
Carters sold the Dive Bomber to Littleboys a couple of months ago but I think Littleboys have plans to run it so that is promising if they do an open day (although I would have...
I love the lightning skid!! It's so ridiculous and fun! I rode by myself this year on one of my goes so I guess they allow single riders now?? Have you done the Steam Yachts? Absolute chaos as well!!
Have had a think about mine now so here it is.
- Coaster count at start of 2021: 612
- Coaster count at end of 2021: 653
- New coasters ridden in 2021: 41
- New parks visited in 2021: 2 proper parks (Tayto Park and Walibi Belgium) plus various small parks/fairs (Southport Pleasureland...
I always enjoy reading this thread every year to see what people have been up to and I realised that we didn't have one yet for 2021 so here we go! I've used last year's categories as a template and added a couple of extras. You can copy and paste the categories and fill in your own answers...
Double post but Lagoon has had a fire that has destroyed a candy shop and kiddie bumper cars ride.

Yeah, it's a shame that if they're retracking it they can't somehow improve the profiling. If a modern manufacturer had a go at re-designing this ride I reckon it could do amazing things! Obviously anything major would need support alterations (and a ton of cash) but some small changes could...
It's an interesting concept about the different stages of enthusiasm (or enthusiast tastes) that people go through, and it's all highly personal depending on what and when you ride things. Probably a good idea for a thread there if anyone is bored.
I would have been disappointed by Helix if I...
Glad to see Velocicoaster, Kondaa and RTH doing well. I think they'll rise even more next year. Although I'm not generally a huge RMC fan Zadra is my favourite (above SteVe) and deserves the praise that it's finally getting. I'll be interested to see when Steel Vengeance leaves the top spot. I'm...
Voted for Hollywood Studios because it has always been my least favourite but I a) haven't done Tower of Terror and b) haven't been in about 10 years so haven't done Toy Story land or Star Wars etc but I'm not super keen to do either of those things. I think it would still be bottom of the list...
As someone who isn't violent airtime focused and enjoys swoopy fast bits I'm happy with what I've seen so far (although I've not looked at it in great detail), especially after riding Kondaa and Ride to Happiness that both have quirky, new and unusual layouts. Steel curtain is also good fun too...
