As someone who literally got off of Mako less than 10 minutes ago. I’m gonna say Mako. But only just. There’s a trim on one of the airtime hills that’s biting hard and killed the pacing. A shame as up until that point it was great!
The Swarm on its opening day. The ride went down and pretty much everyone left the station, except for me as I was geeking out watching the engineers from B&M working on some sensors. I then got the train to myself on the front row.
From what I’m told, they’re aiming for April/May. They were delayed a few months by the planning process, but they crews are doing a pretty good job catching up. The coaster should fly up.
The Flats are pre-set up mostly so should go together quickly. It’ll be a bit of time sorting out planting...
I wouldn’t say alternative. Usually parks put together a few ideas, some never make it off the drawing board. They put them to focus groups to see which is most appealing. So sometimes these things get drawn up in nice fancy artwork, but never actually go any further.
Just to add to the manufacturer discussion. I’ve got images of a proposed Zierer Family Boomerang for Chessington. Sadly, I can’t share them, but it was 100% Zierer based on the train design, so it’s highly possible this is them.
You’re not the first to suggest that. The only issue with it is that the rides station doesn’t look tall enough. With the floor going in already, there’s a clear pit formed with a station floor either side. So whilst a cool idea, I can’t see it being the case.
See, I thought that too, but I can’t imagine that would be too much of an issue as peoples legs don’t actually get close enough to the floor when sitting in the train. It’s basically the same as Swarm I’d imagine where guests climb into the train. The higher seating position negates the need for...
The tricky here is that the station clearly has footers for the track, but it’s a different set up to the normal Wing Coasters.
B&M Wing Coasters station tracks are usually built to the floor of the station, this one isn’t. There’s a pit beneath. I always figured it was for simple repairs like...
^ Looks plausible that there may be a drop track. Does it have the huge pit for the system to fit into though? Last I heard Th13teen has a 10m deep pit that the drop system slots into in the ground when it falls. Unless Intamin has updated the design of course.
^ Swarm on Saturday was dispatching one train roughly every 3 minutes. Throughputs at all the parks vary massively from time to time. Put a solid team on the ride and it makes a huge difference.
They’ll put the best team they have on the ride. They also have some staff who work their who have experience operating Swarm, so they’ll likely be all over it as best they can.
Something else to note, the combined estimated throughputs of the two other rides in the area are around 1200pph. So...
It’s certainly possible that Intamin could have tweaked their newer trains as part of this project. Could be a revised version of the trains.
The LSM positioning does so far point to the older version trains though, but it’s possible they’ve been modified too. Wouldn’t be too difficult to adapt...
I can answer that one for you. Vampire has 3 trains. They run two during the main season and one which typically runs during the winter months.
Train 2 I believe is the winter train and has just been taken off for its annual strip down and train 3 has taken its place. Typically they do it...
