Must be a fairly recent change/development then. I had a look on RCDB and other than Hyperia and Voltron I couldn't find any other examples of them using this new spine design.
They were still using the old spine design in 2022. (see RCDB photo of Giant Digger that opened in 2022)...
Is this the first time we've seen Mack utilise this design of reinforced track? (See screenshot from Jack's recent video)
It seems to be slightly different and more Intamin-esque when compared to the design they've used in the past. (See Icon construction photo from RCDB)
Please correct me...
I really like the look of those trains but I'm more intrigued about the concept of B&M making an over-the-shoulder lapbar.
Just imagine a 3rd generation B&M invert train with a restraint like that!
Does this confirm that Drayton Manor are only purchasing one sit-down train? Surely if they're replacing the trains, it would make sense to purchase 2 for optimal capacity?
I came across answers to a couple of questions that I believe I saw in this thread a little while ago. Apologies if they've already been answered.
Will Hyperia have 2 or 3 trains?
Will there be a fade from white to gold?
I wonder if they'll install the crest of the lifthill last. As a sort of ceremony crowning the new tallest. I think that'd be cool especially if they livestreamed it or something.
Same here but they've still got 200ish supports on site to play with currently.
I'm sure the buzz will be immense when track does eventually arrive, I know I'm very excited for that!
I'd certainly hope so, especially given the fact that everyone (including a certain Mr Silkstone) has been saying vertical construction was probably going to start mid September. Even the park hinted at this on the passholder Facebook page.
I'm probably the most interested to see what manufacturer is providing the trains. Seeing as this is an Intamin standup and the height restriction is coming down from 1.4m to 1.2m, I find it unlikely that B&M will just sweep in and stick their usual floorless trains on it despite the...
Just out of interest, does anyone know what the top speed of the launch was before and after it was "neutered"?
(not the 13mph that is crests the top of the lift)
I also saw that thread, I think Thorpe said that they "must have been seeing things" or something to that effect. Don't know if Thorpe was telling porkies about that or not though...
(Personally, I'd prefer the Icarus rumour to be true. It makes a lot of sense thematically and would be a...
The big jolt at the bottom of SAW: The Ride's main drop. Total buzzkill.
The airtime hills on The Smiler. Contrary to what I see most people saying, I found the airtime on these to be relatively weak. I would say that SAW's hill and MCBR or maybe even Colossus' hill just before the cobra roll...
