That would be awesome if another coaster was in that space. Preferably a B&M dive machine or wing rider. Or put the wing rider on the bowl a drome / Wild Mouse / trauma Towers site
It would be good if anyone who has posted photos on this topic previously via Farce-o-bucket could reupload them if they get chance via Flickr etc. so we can see these pics again rather than dead links.@Mysterious Sue I would love to see the Battersea Big Dipper pics you put up back on page 10.
The big round building I presume you’re asking about was the Spectatorium. Also known as the Indian Theatre / Chinese Theatre. Opened 1910, burnt down 1939.
Love the aerial pics. I have a load of old postcards & pictures I will put up here very soon, including Big Dipper before / during / after...
Good call on the Crystal Beach Cyclone. That thing looked absolutely insane. IIRC, they had a medic standing by at all times for that ride.
Also the Long Beach Cyclone Racer, built on a pier and disgracefully removed in the name of ‘progress’.
Perhaps it WAS carefully disassembled so blocks of wood and parts can be sold onto coaster goons :)
That is a VERY sad pic though. Never imagined the Mouse to no longer be there :emoji_sob:
I must admit this is a VERY good point. Nobody has died or lost a body part on the ride, and to our knowledge no serious incident has occurred (well, apart from the one they say closed the ride) If you are going to close a ride because of something that 'might' happen then why not shut the lot...
@TommyAlex the Bowel A Drome is an absolute :emoji_poop:hole. I'm not a fan of arcades in BPB full stop. Leave them to the piers and prom. This is the infuriating thing; said building along with the dump that is the Dome are worthy of removal. Mouse was most certainly not.
As with any ride, great for those who like them. I don't have the iron stomach required for spinning rides so they are all the same to me! I can do Skyforce as it can be as tame as you want it to be, but I'd sooner nail my ball bag to Noah's Ark then ride Bling
I would be gutted to see a pendulum type ride, or worse still, a flaming spinning steel mouse, on that space. Also isn't Alice Amanda's favourite ride?
So, Mr Alvey says "I probably would have done a live stream of the demolition!"
Who knows if this is a wind up or not? I'm sorry but to me this would be like photographing or filming a loved one's dead body. I have lots of happy memories and photos of Wild Mouse and I want to remember it as I...
It will be interesting to see if any parts from it at all were salvaged to be put on sale in the shop. I have a Mouse running wheel too, also a chain dog, and late last season when I heard the closure rumours I got a mushroom wheel and 'T' safety bracket metal thing that I might use as a pen...
Yes, the precise point of the ride. Not sure non goons would even notice that this is because the 'front' wheels were actually halfway back down the car, hence a chunk of the rodent already being 'over the edge' before the car actually turned.
The problem is, in terms of complaints, accident...
No, please not a spinning coaster. Just no. If it is mainly clearance envelopes that are the problem (person allegedly having body part contacting part of structure, lifthill headchopper etc), can it not be rebuilt with the same track layout but somehow just a bit more space inbetween...
The airtime on that last drop was immense, and it was a tiny drop as well. If you were wearing a hoodie, it would flip the hood over your head guaranteed!
Totally agree. Every time I overheard people in the ticket office being told the Mouse was closed that day, they seemed disappointed. Also overheard conversations by the ride, and anywhere in the park for that matter, of people being upset about it being shut. So, I don't accept at all that it...
To be fair you mentioned Icon first! I have not directed any negativity towards Icon, and don't see why anyone else would either. I will be in the queue to ride it as soon as I possibly can and fully expect it to be a superb ride. Anyway, I don't want to start an argument, I am just devastated...
I'm not sure how it will be a 'better ride' just because it is new. Yes it will be replaced by something. A food stall, games hut, or boring ride probably. The Mouse was a one off. I, along with many others I reckon, cannot imagine anything in its space ever being better than it. I am greatly...
