    Cedar Point | Top Thrill 2 | Triple Launch Renovation | 2024

Alternatively it was named by Lauren Bacall It's de-CAFFEINATED.

SeaWorld Orlando | Pipeline: The Surf Coaster | B&M Surf Coaster | 2023

This part I'm kinda nervous about (not likely to ride it in a while cause expensive to go, but) if I were to ride it. My joints easily bend in the wrong direction and dislocate, especially my knees. I take it there's nothing really preventing you from going down further than your initial...

    Queue Time Displays

I'll take this opportunity to ask how in the world do they work. Like, do they have sensors along the queue that check for how full it is? Some algorithm based on how many people enter and exit the station? A station employee enters their own estimate by looking at the queue?

Dollywood | Big Bear Mountain | Vekoma Family Launched Coaster | 2023

Is it me or does this have a really unique sound? It may be the track shape combined with the large fins under the trains causing a unique wind sound but idk it's a very pleasant hum the train makes while going by.

Will another launch method be discovered in a future?

To expand on this, some of the more controlled/sophisticated slingshot rides use giant banks of springs to cause the actual slingshot effect. Perhaps this could be somehow combined with the good old dropweight system to make a faster system where even larger springs are stretched by a winch...

Poseidon’s Fury @ Islands of Adventure closing May 10th, making room for ”new experiences”

I didn't know this ride even existed at all lmfao, hopefully it's the same for others so it doesn't sting too much.

    Canada’s Wonderland | Tundra Twister | Mondial Avalanche | 2023

^ Jesus. Yukon Striker is an absolutely gargantuan coaster in not only height but also track thickness, usually flats look miniscule next to coasters but this?

    Rides that don't feel safe

Anybody who's ridden a Maurer skyloop knows what's up. The lap bar doesn't press down on any part of your body as much as just sorta lays over your lower body so that vertical ascent to turning over upside down that high up off the ground... 120m tall starflyers are nothing, but Skyloops still...

CWOA | Mandrill Mayhem (World of Jumanji) | B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

Good to see Merlin is still going with the "if it looks dilapidated from the jump we don't need to maintain it!" route

B&M Vest Restraints vs the original ones

I've experienced both the vests and the OG at the same park in Heide. I would probably feel inclined to agree with the majority opinion that the OG > vests if B&M spaced the seats farther apart like they do on the trains with the vests, however on Krake I found that the OG otsrs feel really...

CWOA | Mandrill Mayhem (World of Jumanji) | B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

This is such a weird coaster to me lmfao and that backwards spike at the start is so un-B&M. They seem to also be testing this without the train theming like they did on the legoland wing, which looks like a way better family thrill than this. I can't imagine hanging sideways on the spiral to be...

Major Rides At Your Local Park You Always Skip?

Works for my (kinda) local park but also any future park I'd visit: Any skyrocket 2. I'd much rather spend my time feeling out the park or doing some fun family coaster over those forceless things with the worst rollercoaster trains anybody's come up with (and note, I haven't yet experienced...

Legoland Deutschland | Maximus: Flight of the Guardian| B&M Wing Coaster | 2023

^ It definitely moves through the track faster than I expected, but that's probably because B&M track is so large that smaller elements look like there's much less altitude to gather speed with etcetera. Should be a fun experience for any age.

Biggest misnomers in the theme park industry

I unironically stopped dreaming of being able to visit theme parks constantly because sometimes it seems like when people ride coasters every day it's not fun anymore and they just start analyzing how elements were not as fun as their #1

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi | Mission Ferrari | Dynamic Attractions | 2023

That does look really fun and I'm glad there's physical props in there too but... What was that about climate protests in the dialogue 😅

    Tivoli Friheden | Vindfald | Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter | 2024

I'm not an expert in the field so I don't know for sure but if I had to guess, a deciding factor could also be shipping since for a compact coaster in a smaller park you imagine it's a bigger factor in the overall cost than with a larger investment. Intamin's tracks would (I'm assuming) be made...

    IAAPA 2022

Oh my lord... Please, NAME NAMES. Everything from people here on this thread, from IAAPA, from Twitter is all just "something happened somewhere with someone and it's bad", NAME NAMES. If you don't want to name names, it's clearly not significant enough and we can all forget about it. If it's...

Lost Island Theme Park | Iowa | 2022 (Kanonen relocation)

To me it looks like they've planted some the issue of course being that foliage doesn't grow to full size in a month. But granted, looks like there's areas they could plant more in where I don't see any saplings.

    Linnanmäki | Swingi | Intamin Gyro Swing | 2024

The Top Spin basically had to close already this year but they're already adding a different new attraction in 2023 (presumably, not confirmed 100%) in the new Vekkula (funhouse) replacement for the one they closed in 2017 to make way for Taiga. They've had to delay that one by a couple years...

    Linnanmäki | Swingi | Intamin Gyro Swing | 2024

I hate the name. But other than that, this has me excited! If they stay faithful to the art I'll be happy too cause the victorian-esque fencing and brick backdrop look really nice as although Linnanmäki has no overarching themes, they have made an effort with a lot of recent additions and...
