How is your tolerance of roughness?

Having ridden Condor and MP Express in the last year I have to say it really depends on your seat. Front-row is absolutely okay with both! Especially with Condor I was expecting the worst. My last ride on it was several years ago and after that I was exposed to a lot of "CONDOR IS SO BAD!" - but...

Where is the dry water ride category headed in the near future?

Look at Chiapas. Traditional log flumes can have a restraint.

Next European Park to get a B&M

Europa Park is the biggest park in Germany - not Heide Park. But the two bigger parks Europa Park and Phantasialand have B&M coasters, as well. Those are a bit older though.

Der Schwur des Kärnan opened in 2015. It doesn't really have a conventional lift hill though ;)

What's the roughest coaster in the UK and why?

I doubt that Tonnerre de Zeus is a valid candidate for roughest coaster in the UK.

    WTF Merlin?

If I remember correctly at Merlin parks only technicians are allowed to add or remove trains since the Smiler incident. A new train added by the ride ops without proper communcation was one of the causes of the disaster. The other one was overwriting the safety systems without any proper checks.

Chengdu Wanda City | All Speeds | Taron Clone | 2021

Phantasialand was heavily involved with the layout and the design of the trains. But I never read if it was only a back and forth with wishes and suggestions from Phantasialand or if they actually contributed to the trains and layout. Anyway I'm pretty sure there were some clauses about at least...

Fatal Accident at Parc Saint Paul

Wow! This person should not be allowed to operate an amusement park! This statement is absurd and completely misses the point. Especially if they changed the security system of the ride after it was checked... But even a completely secure ride (built and assessed) is insecure if it's not...

    New Coaster at Wiener Prater

I have to say I really like Bobsleds. As I'm from Germany I fortunately got to ride several by now. They are nice little coasters that combine mouse turns with sharp banked curves and smaller air time hills. This one looks no different. ? I'd love to ride it but I don't think I'll be able to in...

    Your longest theme park hiatus?

Fortunately I visited Europa Park and Phantasialand at the last day of their winter seasons. Didn't visit a park by now but will go to Toverland on saturday. My longest hiatus? I don't know. For the longest time I only visited about one or two parks each year so there was possibly a year without...

As you can see in Tulsa (USA) right now it can be up to about two weeks untill you see the spike happening.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Neither distancing nor masks inside: I don't understand it. You're not getting anywhere faster by not maintaining social distancing in queue lines. I heard several people say they really like social distancing in queues as they don't have anyone breathing in their neck. At least in...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

Don't underestimate the virus. https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/2562261/ Long term effects of an infection with Covid-19 are not yet researched. But it seems like it can harm multiple organs and scar the lungs. So even younger shouldn't take it easy and think they're not at risk. We...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

That's just not true. Social distancing and using masks in places where it's not possible to maintain distance seem to be working quite good for stopping the virus from spreading. Well... that's not easy. There's rarely a clear singular cause of death. Especially with a virus that seriously...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

They only ever had one train. They bought a second one (the new one in the picture) to minimize downtime as this coaster is open all year. The old one will not be replaced but receive some updates. As far as I know Booster Bike can only do one train operations.

Fatal Accident at Parc Saint Paul

Well... it's partly like with historic cars. These are allowed to go without seatbelts (at least in Germany). Not because it's safe enough but only because they always used to. There's just a different set of rules for older tech. Nevertheless even though I love the dodgy old attractions I think...

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

As far as I got it, there seems to be evidence that for some the non-specific virus defence of the body is sufficient to fight off the virus. But that'd be something you can't really enforce and that won't be enough in the grand scheme of things.

    Coronavirus: Impact on Theme Parks

For sure any level of immunity is better than none. Still it'd be a lot better to just prevent an infection as there just too many fatalities on the path to helpful numbers of immunity. Business as usual is not at all helpful at this time.
