Re: Gardaland | unknown | B&M Dive Coaster
What an interesting little hill. It reminds me of those little bunny hops you could make in Rollercoaster tycoon with the wild mouses.
Height doesn't make as much of an impact on the ride experience besides being the precursor to a lot of speed and set-up of a good pace. While it's nice a launched coaster can go 450 feet in the air you're up there for only a few seconds so you can't quite experience just how high you are.
On a...
Re: BGW | Tempesto? | Premier Rides Launch Coaster?
Supports are also on-site waiting to be shipped to the ride site. They're orange, btw.
Do not get your hopes up for a sliding station a la Mr. Freeze. The site plans which have been redacted due to DMCA have shown only one queue line and one...
Re: Fantawild Adventure Wuhu | Unknown | Gravity Group woodi
That Gravity Group woodie has a very interesting vertical layout, can't wait for the ground pictures to come around.
Considering that they're out in Indiana and more prone to snow and cold weather than over here in New Jersey it's no surprise to me that they have so much work done already. Get it out of the way before the weather screws everything over.
I looked at most of the floorless coasters built and it seems that only Bizarro and Kracken use vertical drive tires for the standard floorless coasters. There were 5 built between 1999 and 2000 and only those two have the vertical drive tires, every other one that had a video used the...
El Toro's ejector hill has been recorded at -2.2 Gs when it's running well.
Not sure about laterals but I think the Wild Mouses pull like 1.5 Gs in those hairpin turns?
It's quite a few inches actually, it shouldn't be enough to drastically affect G-forces on riders.
Also the drive tires shouldn't be changed that much since it's still the same single drive tire system that is used on the floorless coasters, but the stingers on each end of the station to lock...
In Park
Best New Cred - Flying Turns, Knoebels (one hell of a year huh?)
Worst New Cred - Thunderbolt, Luna Park
Most Surprising New Cred - Thunderbolt, and not in a good way
Nastiest Spiting Experience - Tie. Stinger, broke day before I visited. Luna Park shutting down everything but the...
Re: Six Flags Great Adventure | Zumanjaro | 415 ft. Drop Tow
They actually did operate the both of them at the same time but the helicopter didn't get a good shot at all of the both of them.
Just as a heads up, the riders in the video are all employees and Kingda Ka was full of ACE members...
The dispatch buttons lower the floors in order to dispatch a train forward. The train is not cleared to move forward until the floors are in their resting position (down). When the ride is closed for the night the floor stays down until they move a train into the station.
There are portable...
Can confirm, once pressure is released (via hydraulic or air pressure) they set into their default position. Even with Thunderbolt's case with the brake fins on its lift hill they are up when there is no pressure in the system.
It's actually closer to every 10-12 launches, and it's more the fault of the ride being so bloody extreme that it breaks down so much. Maintenance is only really there to reset the ride when it needs it (which is 90% of the breakdowns lately).
One of the council members repeatedly asked about the chances of being tossed into the parking lot, so I highly doubt any of them have a clue about anything related to the industry besides "They're big and intimidating."
