Rides that required a second ride or series of rerides for you to fully appreciate them

The first ride on Steel Vengeance was great but not amazing, and only cemented number 1 after those late night back row rides. So I get the slight disappointment angle. RTH required multiple re-rides to get the perfect lap. Taron requires evening rides to appreciate. Helix requires evening...

    Alton Towers New Flat Ride?

Schwartzkopf (or Gerstlauer) Polyp please. Would take a Breakdance for sure or a Loki style swing. You know, good rides.

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

I would say that the RMCs have perfected the stall, as all of theirs I've ridden (Goliath, Wildfire, Zadra) all feel like Zero-G, an upside down B&M floaty hill if you will. The restraint is there but your full weight isn't against it. Other manufacturers are hit and miss with their attempts...

    Last Cred Review

Layout is pretty bland but it has a decent floaty hill on the forward leg and has a gorgeous view all the way around, spike is also more impressive than a lot of others. It's the theming and setting that set it apart, as they nearly all ride the same.

Luna @ Liseberg Gorgeous setting and theming, standard family boomerang ride experience. Probably one of the better ones in my list with Raik.

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Hangtime is not airtime. A proper stall, such as Wildfire or Zadra is genuine upside down weightlessness and is great airtime, hanging upside down with your full weight on the restraint is not. Typical stat padding. I'm still hopeful that with a full train this speeds up a bit through that...

If you count coasters, what is your most tenuous counted roller coaster?

I've counted the seuss trolley at IOA, definitely my most contentious creds. But I haven't(and won't) counted any Discos, so that evens it out.

"Big Mack and Fries" - Thorpe Park, 29th September 2024

Yep, count me in as well.

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Great news, was one of the worst parks I've visited in the last 10 years, hoping Looping can turn it around.

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Yeah, gonna be train time soon. Been around 3 weeks since they completed the layout.

    Dorney Park | Iron Menace | B&M Dive Machine | 2024

First thing I thought was that it was dropping without the brake so you are probably right. Shame as the speed of this one actually looks great.

    Alton Towers | Nemesis Reborn | B&M Retrack | 2024

If they had replaced all the track including the lift, brakes and station then I would have. Similar to removing a worm and putting a brand spanking new one in. Anyway, people can count it if they want, but I shall be gazing down from my ivory tower ;)

    Alton Towers | Nemesis Reborn | B&M Retrack | 2024

I think it will be similar to Hulk where there is no extra cred, and it automatically ticks if you rode the original, marking it as ridden in another location. Plus, RCDB only shows the one ride, so no extra cred for me.

Skyrush - what tier is it in? Now vs. new restraints?

The original seats on Skyrush were painful yes, but the ride is still in my top 5 even so. I do see the point that others make about it though, so your 2nd poll in a few years will heavily weight at the top end, hopefully with the people who really dislike the ride being significantly fewer...

Grona Lund to Expand for 2024?

Assuming rolling launch the lack of a MCBR isn't a huge deal, I expect it will be a sub 60 second ride so will hit the final brakes around the time of the next dispatch anyway. Looks good though. @chainedbanana saw something that Vekoma teased which looks eerily similar to this.

Changes coming to Skyrush for 2024?

This is incredibly exciting, at least for me. It's already a world class coaster, and after plenty of rides I found a position which negated the pain caused by the old restraints. Being able to ride it without having to position specifically is only a good thing. Might make the queues longer is...

Rides that required a second ride or series of rerides for you to fully appreciate them

Most of my top 20 needed multiple rides to put them where they are. There's certain rides like the Intamin and Mack launchers which really need to warm up first. So the obvious ones are; Taron Helix Batman Gotham City Escape Toutatis Then there's the wacky one - Ride to Happiness - which needs...

Europa Park | Voltron | Mack Rides Stryker Coaster | 2024

Pfft, it's flying over that airtime hill and the inversion after it is also taken at a good pace. Not every element has to be balls to the wall quick.

    Rank the GCIs

Harsh, was a good cred but we were dying in the heat. Shame we couldn't physically manage a re-ride. Hopefully Thunderhead is as good as the first time I rode it, that's a top tier GCI, so should get up high in your list.
