The corners provide a sensation like what you would get on a "Constrictor" style tube slide (high G forces). The whole "plate" thing is just for aesthetic purposes imho.
Here's a POV of the one at Fiesta Texas
A drill was spotted near the Tornado water slide in Hurricane Harbor this week.
The park has been rumored to be receiving a clone of the watercoaster that went into Fiesta Texas this year.
The new slide is rumored to be taking of the place of the body slides tower next to Tornado
I too am hoping that the bridge gets a facade added. Since it is quite visible from the ThuNderaTion queue and path down to Echo Hollow I would be surprised if they leave it exposed like it currently is.
The construction crews are usually gone by the time Echo Hollow opens for its nightly...

STATION PROGRESS:
Notice how the bridge is now installed and has grown wider in size.
The pathway from the bridge back to the park is now being installed.

You are...
1. A member of the media
2. Have an established working relationship with the park.
I've been literally working with the park since PowderKeg debuted. My marching band (I'm a teacher) was part of the Grand Opening for Firemans Landing. Nothing like being on a first name basis...
Ah but your post proves that you're missing the point of FL. With FL you don't have to worry about calculations or "learning" this or that. If you want to ride something you go ride it. Makes for a much more enjoyable trip. True we don't go every year but we do go fairly often.
Fast Lane is really the only way to do Cedar Point. I hate standing in queues and even more so when it's warm. Sure it's expensive, but I always ask "what's your time worth?" To me the extra cost was worth being able to ride what I wanted when I wanted AND having the option of retreating to AC...
To be honest, I'm sure it's over the GP's head as well but that's how they do things at SDC. It's a subtle nod to those that know and just part of the facades to everyone else. There's a lot of things like that at the park. For instance all of the posters around the park are tributes to...
For example - 1883 on the Outlaw Run station corresponds to 2013 when it opened.
So why 1908? Well this is supposed to be "the future" - so look for the date 1888 on the building and a promise to go 20 years into the future (1908)
I'm not sure what you're getting hung up on. I've explained it twice now and even if you do not understand that is how they do things at SDC. 1908 (in this instance) is 2018.
Silver Dollar City is themed to the 1880s when Marvel Cave (the cave the park was built on top of) was being mined for guano. Each ride at the park has its date added to the facade with a corresponding year so 2018 would 1908 in the "SDC universe"
It's not free (it's $8) but it's on top level of the store. You didn't actually think it was free at Epcot did you? It's included with your admission whether you choose to use it or not.
Where have you heard this rumor. Outside of this thread I haven't heard a thing about Kanonen coming to WOF and the park is practically in my backyard.
