This is so much more efficient. If you avoid moving parts, there is less maintenance and less chances of the ride going down. On top of this, you can dispatch trains faster without retracting floor leading to better hourly capacity (in theory). B&M already figured this out with their flying...
My favourite MCBR exit is/used to be Khan's. Around the 2010s DK MCBR didn't even touch the train so it flew by resulting in a very snappy transition, diving to the right with immense speed. It is amazing!
As for entry, I don't recall any coaster being note-worthy for having a memorable MCBR entry.
As far as I know, this project has been in development and pushed back for quite some time. My guess is that when the project was signed (it can take years between a park contacting a manufacturer and a coaster getting built) Intamin was still offering the old trains with this LSM configuration...
I wish any future coaster at PA was half as good as this one. This guy has envisioned attractions for the park that put to shame the creative team at PA.
Nothing too fancy really. Just a cloned SFC and a clone of those French dueling boomerangs.
Seems like a missed opportunity to install a new-gen dark ride.
I am sure Cedar Fair will refurbish Montezooma just fine. Just don't expect the punchy launch that it used to have, because if they retrofit it with the same launch as Psyké Underground, it's going to be a bit tamer.
A local park fan has posted a thread on Twitter comparing the size of the future ride to the footprint of other major attractions (dark rides and coasters), just to show how massive the showbuilding will be.
Apparently the building framework is so tall it can be easily seen from the Mexico area.
It was totally intentional. This coaster is meant to be the park's star attraction and icon for the next decade.
IMO they could have blended the track a bit more (like Stealth) not to clash so much with the white towers in the backdrop but I guess I will get used to it.
I am so horrified by this! And if are any victims involved, my heart goes out to their families and friends.
A freak accident can happen and it's just sad. This is plain bad manufacturing with no excuse: I mean, this is the second time this kind of accident has happened on this same coaster.
It is going to be Batman-themed for sure. When the old Dark Knight simulator was torn down the only thing that was left was the batcave and Wayne mansion, which used to house the simulator's preshow and indoor queue. Since the station will be located there, it would make sense that they preserve...
I am inclined to say multilaunch like Taron/Taiga, since the top hat sits the furthest (normally preceded by a launch) from the station, but there is also a long concrete trough close to the station area, similar to the one found on Cheetah Hunt, meaning there should be at least 2 launch...
