Indiana Beach I All American Triple Loop | Quimera (Dreier Looper) relocation | 2024

Yeah that's terrifying, I have never heard of a lift hill rollback since the tragic event in Battersea 1972 😬, hopefully it never runs with 2 trains.

Energylandia | Choco Chip Creek | Vekoma Minetrain | 2024

I was thinking to myself it feels like a reeeealy long time since the tracking first arrived, so had a look back. October 2019. Yep four and a half years ago. Post in thread 'Energylandia's Future Additions'...

If you live in the UK, do you currently have a Merlin Annual Pass? Have you ever had one?

We got discovery passes this year since the kids are not in school yet, wife working part time, and I can book odd days off work no problem, it's easy for us to do off peak days. Legoland, Chessington and Thorpe are all within about 30 mins drive so yeah it makes sense. Back in my teens/20s, me...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

They still have them at Disneyland Paris too, opened in 1992. It surprises me more from an air quality point of view than anything, you can really smell the petrol fumes on the ride. No word on replacing them at Paris 🤔.

    WTF BPB?

This should really be in a "Yay BPB" topic - they're holding a farewell event for Grand Prix: https://www.instagram.com/p/C574G2JvinJ/?igsh=a29nY2E1Z3pkMTNs It's so rare for parks to do this sort of thing when retiring a ride, I don't remember BPB ever doing it before, so it's great to see...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

I literally just joined seconds before the first test run, looked great 😃. PS. I don't remember ever seeing this level of build-up and excitement for a test run before - love it!

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

Yeah I like it 😊, quite simple but sleek and stylish. I can't wait to see it going round that outerbank. PS. It's reassuring that they have reiterated it's opening on 24th May, I have booked the day off work and don't want to have to change my plans!

If you count coasters, what is your most tenuous counted roller coaster?

Probably Tower Coaster for me. Yeah it's powered and you control the speed yourself, but it looks and feels like a coaster, and if you describe it to somebody you'd almost certainly use the words "roller coaster", so on the list it goes. Plus it was expensive so I am definitely counting it 😂

"Big Mack and Fries" - Thorpe Park, 29th September 2024

Very exciting to see a new CF live being planned, I should be there, it's even a date you can use a Merlin Discovery Pass 😀.

    Lightwater Valley - Future?

How did you get access there? I always thought it was a shame that so few off-ride pictures and videos exist, especially of the woodland part of the ride, do you have more like this? PS great move for the park to get accommodation, doesn't really interest me (the park is basically dead to me...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Not a huge amount of "news" this morning but the usual suspects gave me a bit of a laugh: Alton Towers said they're releasing a scratch and sniff map 😂: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5NXfVQsJc-/?igsh=b2E4ZmN6c2JzbWM1 Pleasure Beach once again pretending that Hyperia is only 1 foot taller than...

    Gerstlauer for Pleasureland Southport?

Yeah the original announcement was nearly 3 years ago now so it's one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" projects for me.

    WTF BPB?

That's very sad news, my Dad remembers riding it when he was a kid. Just last October I took my little girl on it and she loved it. It's a bit surprising as it was still very fun and gave a good tour around the South side of the park. I would guess the cost of powering it and the low capacity...

    Alton Towers | Nemesis Reborn | B&M Retrack | 2024

Couldn't they have thrown in a lift hill climb? It doesn't sound great to me but fair play to them for doing something special for the hardcore fans.

Knott’s Berry Farm | MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress | Schwarzkopf Launch Refurb | 2025?

To be fair it wouldn't even be the slowest refurbishment of a Schwartzkopf Shuttle Loop - Walibi Holland's one was closed from 2009 to 2013 😂. I'm glad to hear it's staying, these shuttle loops were really the birth of the launched coaster, well ahead of their time.

Serious Incident at Oakwood Theme Park

They just spent millions on Megafobia to be fair, a very promising sign after many years of letting the park rot. Hopefully there is more good quality investment to come 🤞.
