    Hossoland | Poland | Theme Park | 2025

Similarly to everyone else, I do question how they’re going to open the park next year with no rides in situ. Even after rides are built, there’s a lot more left to do. Even with a Zadra build speed, I think May 2025 will be a push!

    Milestones in Your Counts

Congratulations @James F! I’m not sure whether to count 50s myself. I counted 50, but I’m unsure whether to count 150 as a milestone or not whenever I eventually hit it…

What has been your most successful year as an enthusiast?

Following the update of another of my threads earlier in the day, about “most times you’ve ridden a specific attraction in one day”, I thought it might be fun to update this thread! Since I last posted in here, I scrapped my “enthusiasm start date” and explored my exhaustive theme park visiting...

Most rides you've ever had on one attraction in a day?

Since I last posted in here, my previous daily record of 6 on Silver Star is no longer even in the top 3! My top 3 now is: Gold Rush at Drayton Manor - 14 rides - 5th September 2024 Stealth at Thorpe Park - 10 rides - 15th September 2023 Apocalypse at Drayton Manor - 7 rides - 9th June 2022...

Has a coaster ever had to be rebuilt because of a hurricane?

The only park that I know of to ever close or be severely, irreparably damaged as a result of a hurricane was Six Flags New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and that was a unique situation because the park’s drainage systems also failed during the storm. Hurricane Katrina was also massive on...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

Cyclonator has a 1.2m height restriction, so I don’t think it’s something Paultons are necessarily averse to. In my view, such a coaster would be a good way to make the park more of an all-round family park for every age group rather than the young family park it arguably is at the moment...

    New attractions at Paultons Park

As much as people are rubbishing an Intamin Hot Racer, I actually think it seems like the sort of thing that could be right up Paultons’ street myself. It would be low to the ground and fairly intermediate in terms of thrill level, but it would also be a definite step up from anything they...

    First time at Cedar Point

Nice report @soleil; I’m sorry to hear you had a poor time at Cedar Point. It sounds like you got very unlucky with the weather and ride availability. Was this your only day at Cedar Point, or are you there for multiple days? On a side note, did you mean to post this in this thread?

    Throughput Timings Thread

Apologies for being nearly a month late, but I have some throughput timings and insights to share from my recent trip to PortAventura World in Spain. The throughput readings I was able to get were as follows: Dragon Khan (Theoretical: Unknown on 3 trains) - 668pph (2 trains, average of 4, 10th...

    Top 10(ish): 2024 Edition - page 124

Following my recent (well, nearly a month ago…) trip to PortAventura World in Spain to close out the year, I can now update my top 10 and top 30 yet again, with a rather big new entry at the very top being the icing on the cake… My current top 10, with a coaster count of 134, is now as follows...

A Long Overdue Return To Coasters - 3 Merlin Parks By Train

For the transport geek in me, that sounds like an epic day @Burniel! Doing something like that would give me an odd sense of satisfaction… I’m staggered, however, that you managed to walk from Legoland Windsor’s entrance to Windsor & Eton Riverside in 48 minutes… when I went as a non-driver to...

    Rank the Intamin Launch Coasters

Apologies for resurrecting a thread that hasn’t been posted in for 3.5 years, but this was, perhaps surprisingly given the recent spate of new launched Intamins, the most recent thread I could find on this topic. Last time I posted in here, it would seem that I had only registered riding 3...

Dollywood building a new indoor coaster in Wildwood Grove for 2025?

I thought Pete Owens said “attraction”, which would leave it open to be something else.

Dollywood building a new indoor coaster in Wildwood Grove for 2025?

That’s interesting to know! In that case, then, we could be in for something quite special here with that $50m billed budget!

Dollywood building a new indoor coaster in Wildwood Grove for 2025?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I thought Fire in the Hole 2.0 was a huge project? Maybe not $50m huge, admittedly, but I seem to remember it being pretty big and being built for a very long time, anyhow.

Dollywood building a new indoor coaster in Wildwood Grove for 2025?

I know a lot of parks seem to be building them at the moment, but I reckon something like an Intamin Multidimensional Coaster might be a nice fit, personally. The trick tracks and potential for dark ride scenes would differentiate it somewhat from FireChaser Express and Big Bear Mountain even if...

Riding Coasters in the Hell Swamp Part 1: Busch Gardens Tampa

I’m glad you enjoyed Busch Gardens’ coasters! It sounds like you had a similar experience to me on Iron Gwazi; I too found it to not quite live up to sky-high expectations on the first go and then really wow me later on. The B&Ms are great at Busch Gardens; I agree with your positive thoughts...

Are you a doer or a relaxer on holiday?

Hi guys. As many of you know, I recently went to Spain to visit PortAventura for the first time with my mum and dad. We had a brilliant time, but one interesting aspect of the holiday is that my mum and dad told me they were using aspects of it as a litmus test to determine if they could ever do...

Chessington World of Adventures holding public consultation regarding “current proposals and new developments” - potential new attraction?

I’ve heard an interesting theory that Project Refresh and Renew could possibly be the materialisation of an interesting market research concept outlined by Merlin earlier this year… the concept outlined a Minecraft land at either Chessington or Alton Towers. If it is Minecraft, that would...

Chessington World of Adventures holding public consultation regarding “current proposals and new developments” - potential new attraction?

Information is now online about what Chessington intends to discuss at the consultation. In summation, we have three main points of interest in terms of new things. These are: Project Refresh and Renew: Wild Asia and the area currently occupied by Explorer Glamping are to be rethemed into a...
