    Thoughts on Saw

Well, I rode Saw – The Ride last Monday and overall, I think the ride is very good. But without going into spoilers I can’t say much more about what I liked/disliked about the theme. As a roller coaster, the outdoor section is a lot of fun. It is rough, but only in a couple of places. And that...

The Thorpe reliability thread - 2009 edition.

I was at Thorpe Park on Monday and Saw – The Ride was fine (managed 7 rides). It operated flawlessly up until around 4pm, when torrential rain closed half the park for 30 minutes and sent pretty much everybody home. I witnessed Saw – The Ride moments before this downpour happened, the ride...

"SAW - The Ride" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

Anyone else notice that the news report didn’t mention Saw? Probably Copyright etc., but it would’ve made the report more interesting, or rather more compelling. Anyway, it does look a bit bumpy, but at least it’s forceful.

"SAW - The Ride" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

A Mega Lite can only manage 810 people per hour. That would be worse than Thorpe Park installing a clone of Rage. Anyway, Thorpe Park Mania has posted a rather comprehensive gallery from yesterday onto their mini-site: http://projectdylan.co.uk/Construction/131 And so has the...

    "Now Showing"

Well I saw my first ever 18-rated film at the cinema on Friday the 13th of February 2009 and predictably, the film was: Friday The 13th (2009) The film starts off well with a nostalgic prologue affirming that Jason’s mother was indeed the original killer at Camp Crystal Lake. But from that...

A good site for fixed camera POV’s, and their general park videos are quite good too. www.parkpreview.co.uk The Chessington World of Adventures video is particularly impressive, and is that CF's Screaming Coasters operating Seastorm?

No, it’s simply being referred to as the Corkscrew Replacement. No, there was no evidence for that. Yes, that’s how this whole thing came about. The Forbidden Valley was originally intended to be themed to a strange military establishment. The first design for what would become Nemesis...

"SAW - The Ride" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

They’re very rough comparisons, back in 2006/07 the exchange rates were generally higher than today (the pound being stronger). But without getting into the politics of the matter, it is difficult to compare. The point was, that unlike originally speculated, Saw The Ride was not the cheaper...

"SAW - The Ride" - Eurofighter for Thorpe Park

Oh and for those who don’t already know, Saw: The Ride is costing £13.5million. And when converted into dollars £13.5million equals just over $20million. That’s right, $2.5million more than Mystery Mines expense and $1million less than Tatsu’s investment.
