No, its that if I handbuild something I end up nitpicking every little wiggle in the ride half to death and take ages and ages just to get through the track and if it's a comp then I end up with half of a ride, no supports and a few hours left, so I just would rather use the tool, which allows...
^ I agree with the airtime thing wholeheartedly, it really shows on zac spins when you go through one of the pull ups upsidedown. My only other problem with the intamin OSTR's is their tendency to get tighter through the course of the ride, I really got this feeling on Maverick in the first half...
^^ I think it's because of their lack of room near the station so they are using the old trains because they are shorter and so will need a shorter station and transfer track.
All I have to say is that it doesn't matter that they're gone because of ACTA.
Read an article on it here http://www.thedailyaztec.com/2012/01/acta-has-same-dangers-as-pipa-and-sopa/
^ They can, but then the 0 to 80 in 1.8 seconds wouldn't be correct, there is only one acceleration rate that will work perfectly on a launch track of this length. The problem is in the design limitations of the hydraulic launch system, the motors can be sped up, but once they start...
^ It actually does, if there is more launch track than necessary then the ride would be liable to continue accelerating until it leaves the launch track, thus overspeeding the the tophat and operating outside the design specs.
Stealth is basically the same ride as Zaturn at Space World, the only slight differences is the length (by 11 inches) and the height (probably due to the placement of the ride), so if Zaturn accelerates to it's top speed, the same as Stealth's, in 2.3 seconds (according to RCDB), then Stealth...
Con-roll makes it so that rather than having a roll transition that tapers at the ends of each segment (if you use newton imagine it as a quintic transition) you have a constant roll through all the segments (in newton it would be like having either multiple roll zones [without con-roll] or...
They have to finish it in pretty much the next week because the crane is going to a different construction site at the beginning of February, I also remember reading that they originally had plans to cap it off last week but were delayed due to the wind.
I see very high levels of sexy banking in that first picture, other than that I think the Blue Fire crossover looks okay but would be better if it had a bit of a more blocky lateral bracing to it.
^ I actually like the design, but I don't think it really goes well with the colors at all, the colors are more suited to something sleek and possibly a little whimsical, while the design would be great with a brick red and slate grey, or maybe charcoal grey and rusty orange colors, in other...
Re: New "world's first" coaster at Alton Towers 2013
^ It's because the track was probably made in NL, then exported with the construction kit, which doesn't have Gerst or MS track option so it was probably exported as the default, older Schwartzkopf track.
Re: Most intense coaster?
Most intense coaster would be Maverick, most intense element would be Goliath's (SFMM) helix on a day of low MCBR trimming and in the back row.
