Re: "Skyrush" - Intamin Hyper - Hersheypark
^^^ I would love to see that style train too. Sexy.
As furie said, it has to deal with how fast the train hits the brakerun. The faster the train hits the magnetic brakerun the faster it slows. The OTSR's help to reduce stress on the riders body...
That it did. And bruised my thighs while doing it. But regardless, Nitro was forceless.
I know that it wasn't designed to give the ejector air that El Toro was designed for, but I barely felt any floater air, regardless of the seat or time of day.
Re: Hersheypark's New Ride for 2012
Looks like it could be a fun ride; but the video looks like ****. The NL builders on CF could have done a much better job.
But, on another note, I think the trains look awesome and I really can't wait to see them.
I rode it 4 times while I was there once in the morning, twice in the afternoon and once in evening. I tried different seats everytime and got the same ride. Even my family, who aren't coaster enthusiasts thought it was boring.
What is a 2 series coil?
And I know that the units on the track are the stators, but is the wire coiled inside just like it is in the stator of a traditional electric motor?
Never smoked it, and probably never will. It's been offered to me a few times but it never really interested me and I never really cared to try it. But this whole "respecting your body" argument is a load of ****. I run track for a local university and regularly do other types of workouts...
Speed has nothing to do with force. Like I said before, 3G's is 3G's whether your going 80mph or 40mph. And, even though Nitro was fast, it was basically forceless.
^ That's true. I do like to break up the monotony of running with other workouts, though. Keeps me sane.
But that's the same advice my coach gave me when I told him I had started lifting and doing other forms of exercise complemented with running.
Maybe I should listen. It would probably keep...
I would hope that it wasn't a suicide, especially since he was sitting next to his cousin. Usually people who commit suicide don't do it in front of other people, they don't want to traumatize others around them, they just want to end it for themselves. They do it, and have other people find...
Re: Wierd, Wacky & Strange Coaster Bits
^ That's nuts. For some reason, and maybe it's just me, manual brakes seem like an awful idea. Leaves a large window open for human error to occur. But obviously there's never been a notable problem with it anyway.
Has anyone ever tried Insanity? I've been hearing a lot about it and I'm wondering if it's worth giving it a try.
I'm big into working out. Running 60+ miles/week and lifting at least 3 days a week and I'm looking for a better workout. I've tried a modified version of P90X and various workouts...
Adam Sandler in his younger days. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, etc. His more recent stuff has been better, but I just remember despising him when I saw Billy Madison.
