Great! Because I definitely haven’t forgotten what ride type this is supposed to be, nor would I find an official announcement hugely helpful to recall.
It's worth noting on capacity, this roller coaster is still a 14-person-per-train capacity, essentially a glorified 3-car train (only 2 more than Intamin Blitz coasters like Maverick or Fahrenheit). Theoretically the capacity could be upwards of 1,600 PPH (Maverick is 1,200 PPH); but...
"3-4 hour queue for a brand new world's tallest, fastest roller coaster, and uptime is rough"; this is not the first time that statement has been true. 😜
I pray we never had to find out, but not the first time we'd find an Intamin stalling in a difficult to reach spot. :P
Super interesting to see the launch reset. I guess I'm not surprised the second launch lift isn't a swing launch, but sobering to think the ride is designed to do the launch...
Did some digging on the ownership history as I was also curious. The park was always owned by Six Flags Over Texas Fund, Ltd. - a limited partnership - which basically lets a bunch of investors and companies have portions of ownership. Premier Park eventually boosted their ownership share to...
To add more of a throughline, Six Flags already has majority ownership stake in Six Flags Over Texas - this remaining purchase option was for "non-controlling" shares. They're opting to save the money rather than try to own the full 100% of SFOT.
This raises an interesting legal question: Leap the Dips is a listed National Historic Landmark; could it ultimately be torn down? Are there any protections granted to the coaster (or the Lakemont Park for that matter) through U.S. preservation designation?
Short answer: no. There's a helpful...
Count me in for Colossus as well - there’s a lot of new element style GCI threw in here, even some outter banked turns, and I’m very curious to see how they play out. Like @Hixee said, mixing in Infinity Flyers also creates some interesting spice - this style train has mostly flopped when it...
Glad you're doing what I didn't when I visited Ferrari World on Day 2 of Mission Ferrari operation, or lack there of. :P
Continuing the round up of coaster videos, here's a good reverse POV, helpful for getting a better sense of speed:
Coaster Studios also has a best yet, forward facing POV:
Oh that's right, I'm supposed to post the goon stuff here, not the Top 10 thread! :P Was playing with Google Gemini integration to Sheets and any new trends/insights that could be spotted: https://coasterforce.com/forums/threads/top-10-ish-2025-edition-page-129.35525/post-1191518
I feel this...
Credit to @tomahawk on this one. 😅
EDIT: we also have a back row view POV now. Don’t realize there were the black plastic spoiler things - gives an interesting vantage of the train articulation:
The main drop is looking weirder and weirder with coverage. 😅 I'm sure it's a breathtaking entry, but the launch at the bottom is what looks to really be the ticket/acceleration that takes your breath away. The full stop at the top still gives me strong B&M Dive Machine vibes. Great for the...
