I've been trying to return to film at the park for a decade, but their PR guy keeps refusing to allow it. Correct. The current fins on the ride are fine for halfpipe (Surfrider) models with only six seat spinning gondolas (if that's an appropriate term). However, the two spinning gondolas on the Ultra Surf have 10 seats and require taller fins to get the gondola to start spinning, as @MLDesigns...

I checked back with the SF employee who told me about the issue and they thought that LSMs were "spin fins". (Not all employees know coaster parts, no matter how high up the chain they are.) I corrected my post above. Here's Scott's ride. At the time he didn't know that the fins were the issue...

That didn't go well. I posted those on January 10th/16th and it's already been announced that the park will permanently close on March 30th due to financial difficulties under its current vendor. The Storyland-Playland board is exploring options for a new vendor again, but I don't see that...
