October 11, 2020 – After an opening night with many alleged violations of the country’s corona guidelines and numerous technical failures, Walibi Holland announced the cancellation of their Halloween Fright Nights and are ending the park’s season ahead of schedule.
In a press release, the park cited the increasing number of corona infections in the area as the reason. The amusement park stated that the decision was taken in consultation with the municipality of Dronten and regional security. However, due to multiple attraction technical issues early on, Walibi Holland urged visitors not to come to the park in the afternoon. In spite of the park’s request and bad weather conditions, hundreds of guests with pre-purchased tickets still showed up, causing social distancing and other safety violations.
