May 22, 2020 – Universal Orlando Resort will be reopening on Friday, June 5th! The plan includes the Islands Of Adventure and Universal Studios theme parks as well as Volcano Bay water park reopening, with details on the hotel resorts reopening coming soon. The parks will require guests to have their temperatures taken at entrances and to wear face masks, implement virtual lines at popular rides and space out riders on attractions, among other safety rules. They will also reduce attendance and have shortened hours, but not use a reservation system like many other parks are implementing.
As part of the staggered reopening strategy, employees and team members get to enter the parks for the first time on June 1-2 to become familiar with new policies and procedures. June 3rd and 4th will be for invited guests only, which will likely include season pass holders, to control capacity.
Look for Universal Studios Hollywood to implement a similar procedure once California state guidelines for reopening are met.
