Cedar Point announced they capped off the final piece of track on Steel Vengeance this morning. The park’s iconic Mean Streak wooden roller coaster is currently undergoing Rocky Mountain Construction’s I-Box steel track conversion and is scheduled to open next Spring. In addition to changing the track to steel while keeping the wooden support structure, the height was raised from 161 feet (49m) to 205 feet (62.5m) and the initial drop incline went from 52° to 90°, which will raise the top speed from 65 mph (104.6 km/h) to 74 mph (119 km/h). It will also feature over-banked turns, four inversions and a world record 27.2 seconds of airtime! Click the headline for more information
