Kings Island announced that Vortex, the park’s classic Arrow multi-looping roller coaster, will be retired at the end of the 2019 season. The park claims that most rides of this type last between 25-30 years and since Vortex is currently in its 33rd operating season, the coaster has reached the end of its service life. Coney Island removing all its rides

Coney Island Amusement Park – not New York City’s famous Brooklyn beach-side amusement park neighborhood – will remove all amusement rides and attractions at the end of the 2019 season in order to focus on their water park operations. Kings Island to remove Firehawk

Kings Island has announced that Firehawk, the park’s Vekoma flying coaster, will be removed at the end of the 2018 season. Its last days of operation will be during the final weekend of Halloween Haunt, October 26-28.
