Jurassic Park Coaster update

Orlando, Florida, USA

June 10, 2020 – The beast is coming alive! Construction of the new roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida’s Islands of Adventure is taking shape with many new elements starting to form, as our big collection of images show!

Universal has yet to officially announce any details about the new coaster. The only clues are that the name “Velocicoaster” has been trademarked by the chain, and the ride is built by Intamin. The track layout looks similar to an Intamin Blitz roller coaster, so launches, tight turns, and multiple terrain interactions are expected.

The Jurassic Park themed area has been overhauled with the inclusion new attractions themed to the Jurassic World franchise. The new coaster might open in 2021, coinciding with the possible release of “Jurassic World 3: Dominion” movie. However, until the park officially acknowledge the new ride and let it out of the cage, our guess is as good as yours! In the meantime, let’s drool over the video and images that Scott took!
