Saint Paul, Picardie, France
October 28, 2017 – The Gravity Group released video animation of Wood Express, the new wooden coaster that will be opening at Parc Saint Paul in 2018. At a cost of $2.15 million (€2.5m), the coaster stands 49 feet (15m) tall with a 57° drop reaching speeds up to 38 mph (61 km/h) over 1,572 feet (479m) of track and will feature 13 moments of airtime!
From the innovative Twister (2011) at Gröna Lund in Stockholm, Sweden to the ingenious Switchback (2015) at ZDT’S Amusement Park in Seguin, Texas right up to the inverting Mine Blower (2017) at Fun Spot America in Kissimmee, Florida, the Gravity Group design high quality wooden hybrid coasters that fit into very small footprints.
Parc Saint Paul is about 50 miles (80 km) north of Paris, France and features six other family oriented roller coasters, including two by Pax Company. From the video animation, it appears the Wood Express will be built opposite Forumle 1, one of the two Russian manufactured rides.
