I've had 2 great rides on vortex (thorpe park) where I face the ground loads but I've had a few where I get the opposite and it's not very thrilling. Does anyone know the best place to sit to face the floor.
thanks.

There really isn't a sure place from my experience. It could possibly be on a different setting sometimes, giving a different experience. Also, it might be something to do with what ride you had been on prior to Vortex.

vortex

Vortex is one of my favourite rides so I have been on it twice in one day and both were good then next time I go i go on it twice one is good and one is rubbish purely to do with the fact that I only faced the ground once and the ride hadn't got going properly yet. I'm never get to the same seat though as it always fills up so fast.

Depends when the operator sets it swinging. 80% (rough guess) of the time its the seats next to the ladder leg of the ride thats best.

The best seat is the bench outside the ride. Because its <img>.

LOL!

I must say i was only entertained the first time i went on this, i wouldn't go on it again unless it was queueless. Vortex and Rush just don't seem to do anything for me :(

Having a browse over last years park map, i noticed that Vortex and Rush are considered an extreme thrill, yet rides such as Quantum are just Thrilling & Fun. It seems that basically by "Extreme Thrill" they mean larger? lol.

On vortex its up to the ride operator to start it swing after it has lowered the floor and started to spin. I normally ask for the top by ways of mouthing and pointing. 95% it normally works depends if they see me or not. But if you ask they may just be able to do it for you as they get to decide who's at the to and who's at the bottom.

Not been on Vortex in years, but I remember it being a free for all once in the holding area. Just like Rush.
