What's new

The day that Thorpe was busier than I was expecting.

Monday 13th September. If it was a friday, it'd be unlucky for some. Luckily it wasn't a friday, which meant that a trip to thorpe park could not possibly have any glitches.

I don't really care about riding flat rides at theme parks, all seems a bit pointless. I do love them at fairs, but my mind tells me I should spend more time queueing for coasters at parks. Anyways. On this occasion I am with a female and must obey her commands, so we took advantage of the non-existent queue for quantum.

Here's another picture of us outside quantum. I don't like how much time we spent outside quantum.

What with it being a monday, and term time for schools, I was expecting a pretty empty park. Unfortunately this was not the case, and after strolling around casually for a good 30 mins we decided the coaster queues were too long to actually bother joining, so we would buy some fastracks. Oh. The fastrack offices weren't open, because it 'wasn't supposed to be busy today'. The only fastrack-purchasing-place was in the main dome, so we headed there to join the ironically long queue.

Time for a quick ride on rumba, cos it had a short queue! But then somebody was sick in the queue and the ride ceased operation for a good 10 minutes to clear up the vom. Probably for the best though!

Fastrack time for colossus had arrived, and I was so glad we bought the tickets. Much quicker. Now to find the entrance;

After riding dragon khan, colossus becomes even more turd-like. But it is quite photo-genic

Now over to Soar! Despite it's roughness, I do enjoy the indoor drop, and the various signs that allow for good photos;

And that was that. Had a couple of rides on inferno, which were both averagely enjoyable. They were filming scream if you know the answer on detonator which meant we couldn't go on it, which upset me. I did see Duncan from blue, who looks like a waxwork, and John Barroman, or however you spell that - I didn't really recognise either, but my female accomplice did :p

I absolutely hate X:\ No way. However, I felt I should ride it because the lights were on! And I actually quite enjoyed it, was great so see 3 trains actually on the main track at once, with the fourth loading/unloading. Efficiency makes me happy. All they need to do now is turn the trains round and add some nice flashy lasers or something.

Apart from that, we didn't really get many more rides in, Stealth was shut, as was tidal wave. The girl on the till in the shop was saying how they were only expecting 3000 through the gate that day, but it had blown that figure away. I expect that also explains Stealth being closed?

A fun day all the same :)

Ps.. here's some pics from Blackpool on Sunday!
