Which other company is creating hybrid coasters at the moment though? Most of the ones I'm aware of are either older models that are likely from a defunct company, or an RMC. It certainly is an interesting thought that another company could be working on their own version of a modern hybrid coaster but I don't know how likely that would be.

I've been thinking. I think a Premier Rides Sky Rocket II or something along the lines of Goldrush at Attractiepark Slagharen would work well here. They'd be different to anything built on the British isles, that's for sure! ;)

So now 2018 is here, and Tayto Park is likely receiving new rides next year, if it is true then I would assume that we would see evidence of this in some way when the park reopens in March.

I think they will receive two creds, a kiddie coaster and a thrill coaster, and also some other small rides. Maybe another flat ride. Sticking to the "large investment every 2 years" plan, the planned hotel is meant to open then, so I could only see the park itself getting a flat ride, maybe an S&S drop tower?

Tayto Park's website has been updated with the 2018 park map and seemingly there won't be any new additions this year. (Saving up for that 17.5 million euro coaster next year I imagine!)

Although the park has recently applied for planning permission for a new storage shed, incorporating a small personnel office and toilets, next to the car park. On 6/02/18 Meath County Council decided to grant permission. Provided there is no appeal against this decision a grant of planning permission will be issued at the end of four weeks. To make way for this an existing hay shed and stable will be demolished. These plans are also superseding a previously granted planning application for an Aviary on that site.

Map of Tayto Park. The storage shed will go on the green strip of land coming off the car park. (the brown building is the hay shed that will be demolished)

I assume this permanent warehouse will serve as the replacement for the temporary storage shed next to the Viking Voyage (the planning permission for the flume lists it as temporary for the duration of construction). This would free up all of the land between Viking Voyage and Cú Chulainn so the park can extend out that way (presumably the 2019 will go somewhere around here).

With regards to the hotel they applied for last year Meath County Council will be making the decision whether to grant planning permission on 17/04/2018.
Location of the hotel in relation to the park. If permission is granted it is planned to begin construction in 2019 and open the hotel in 2021. (if the park stick to their two year investment cycle that means it will open the same year as another new major ride)

I really like Tayto Park and it seems to have a very bright future. Excited for what they add next. Hopefully the level of theming seen on Viking Voyage will continue.

Amazing news about the storage shed. A bright future indeed.

In a random facebook message they said to "stay tuned" for news about new attraction(s) for this year. Most likely just something on the level of the talking tree thing from last year, or maybe something in the zoo.

Thanks, great info.
from those maps above there is not much room left for expansion once hotel is build, prob 2 or 3 more major rides.
Does he own land behind where hotel is going but just not park of park?
also, where is solar farm going?

Hmm, that feels like it came out of nowhere. I feel skeptical about it, like we're about to see a Reverchon spinner just plonked in a field.

Seeing as they've only got 4 months to complete the thing from start to finish, I'm guessing that it's not gonna be a rival for Time Traveller.
Hopefully not something as simple a Reverchon spinning mouse plonked on a field, but given the timescale I'm not expecting much more than that.
