At the moment this is very much a rumour but could Russia be about to install the tallest hyper coaster in Europe? (Lets go with Hyper Coaster since obviously Red Force is taller but hey the articles say Roller Coaster)

Several news articles have appeared on Russian sites talking about a new park in the Tula region called Golden City. The articles all mention the installation of the tallest coaster in europe at 80m (around 262ft).

For example one article states
"The agreement was signed with the head of the region in the fields of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2016. According to the deadlines, the project should be completed in 2020. But some of the objects will pass a year earlier.
Next summer several new parks will be opened in the “Golden City”. Among them - Dinosaur Park and Extreme Amusement Park. There will be the highest roller coaster in Europe. They will be 4 meters higher than in the Spanish city of Port Aventura. The foundation for the attraction has already been laid; equipment will be installed in the winter."

Google satellite imagery for the area is a little old but a recently installed Go Kart track thats mentioned in some articles can be seen under construction here

Now call me a cynic but I've heard plenty of bluster from planned amusement parks in Russia that has never come to fruition. And this planned park is really out in the middle of nowhere. But at the same time I guess you never really know.

I'd say put this under the unlikely but possible rumours heading for now.

So.... update on this

From another news article that was actually out late last year

"The highest roller coaster in Europe will appear in the Venevsky district. The investor Albert Dzhussoyev reported this to the Governor during a working meeting. Implementation of the investment project is ahead of schedule. And this despite the fact that the original version was increased in volumes by 3 times.

The agreement was signed with the head of the region on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2016. According to the deadlines, the project should be completed in 2020. But some of the objects will be commissioned a year earlier.

Already next summer in the "Golden City" will open several new parks. Among them are Disneyland, a dinosaur park and an extreme entertainment park. There will be the highest roller coaster in Europe. They will be 4 meters higher than in the Spanish city of Port Aventura. The foundation for the attraction has already been laid, equipment will be mounted in winter."

Now this is on the latest images on Google Earth...
IS it me or does this look like Zaturn?
However wasnt that ride being painted Green?
And it wouldnt beat any records either.

Mysteries abound but more news and answers when they appear.
I'll put the VH elves on it.

It is Zaturn relocated!
Bear in mind that this was added to the RCDB because I sent it in with the picture above.
Duane has no more information than we do at the moment he just decided the picture above was conclusive enough.
