I woke up early on Saturday awaiting Jordan to arrive as I ate my breakfast, he arrived and we both watched my neighbour put grass in a skip. Then Sue and Mike arrived and we all cruised in the Saab towards Cleethorpes with fab cheese playing!

First stop:
988449_10200863869877783_4330682570179982877_n.jpg

MouseAT had already been there for around 90 when we rocked up.

First up was:
1510611_10200863870597801_2677905881111849823_n.jpg

First ride was ok for Boomerang, not too rough and it had a decent drop.

There was a very weird looking slide, which we rode later:

10168166_10200863872997861_8825475489830106591_n.jpg

Next up however was Mini Mine Train, a Vekoma Junior

988432_10200863874237892_8236719262350125140_n.jpg

It was pretty rubbish compared to other Vekoma Juniors I had been on!

Next up was Ghost train thing that had safari jeeps for some reason and Chessington torches!
1724774_10200863875437922_6407089835047564423_n.jpg

Next up we did the Gravitron, my first Gravitron! I loved it! Was so fun!

10151894_10200863877277968_3264763036649963608_n.jpg

The Gravitron was a really really good laugh! One of the best bits of the trip!
Next up we did the shot tower, Hyper Blast. It was hilarious because despite knowing it was a shot tower it still took Jordan by surprise! "What the **** is this?" I believe he said.
The shot tower was small but had great airtime
We then did The Galleon, an old small pirate ship that was ok.

After that we did:
1006081_10200863877757980_2804373393044057785_n.jpg

Volare restraints are vile but the ride was ok! It had a cycle in which it went both forwards and backwards!
10256007_10200863869677778_8400775085872366172_n.jpg

We then rode Century 2000
11579_10200863881158065_6197282709016554526_n.jpg

It was very good fun!

Then we watched a bit of the Sea lion show
10152422_10200863878037987_8222223203328294807_n.jpg

We left part way through to meet Jared and Charlotte and then rode the Boomerang, my third time of the day, by now it was pretty vile.

It was then time for a race so we did the astro slide, but we could not all race at once because apparently the park had run out of polish for three of the slides! For the first time ever I beat Jordan on a slide. Smugface.

We then did the Carousel, the horses had no tails and mine had BNP engraved into it...
1979752_10200863878437997_5066241836972903356_n.jpg

It was ok.

We then did the Paratrooper, which brought back memories of Butlins and Wicksteed Park!
We then did the weird water slide thing, which was good!

There were loads of signs for Thorpe Park along the roads, here is why:
10177483_10200863878758005_4146526967294168207_n.jpg

We then did [strike]Rip of Bubbleworks[/strike] Sweet Adventure

1451614_10200863880398046_7982010599958094484_n.jpg

The sign suggests that the staff were meant to be made out of sweets, which is strange because they work in a sweets factory selling sweets for humans to eat.

Some before this Sue was thinking about going on the Booster but was glad she didn't when MouseAT, Jordan and Charlotte became stuck at the top for a while. The ride engineer slowly made his way over and then came down.

We also saw some pigs

We left the park and went over the road to a chippy, next door was a newsagent with some breaking news!
10247287_10200863881838082_4279056630701450211_n.jpg

We drove to Dunes Leisure in Mablethorpe to ride Miner Mike!
I climbed into the front and we all went round for a while!

We then went to the wrong guest to be greeted by a confused looking Chinese lady before going to the correct guest house and checking in. Darren and Tom then arrived and we went to get some grub!

We found Weatherspoons and I had.... can you guess? Heres a clue my Thorpe report

10154111_10200863883958135_9030100641155094463_n.jpg

Nom! Here is my chicken tika as it came.
10169322_10200863883998136_3902230858031532880_n.jpg

Here I am pouring my chicken tika onto the rice. I ate the chicken tika on the rice but also dipped my naan bread in the sauce. The popodoms were vile.

It was then time to head back to the guest house, where we played A to Z goon games in MouseAT's room including: Intamin, B&M and Schwarzkopf coasters as well as parks with wild mouses, UK parks and mine suggestion, parks with a log flume that isn't called log flume. There was many in jokes including quaffle and axe wound!!

That was the first day!

Gravitron really is awesome, I absolutely loved it, and Shrieksville was great too.
Did you not bother with the other flats? What did you think of the park as a whole?

You're such a food pic goon.

The other flats were closed when we tried to go on them sadly. The park was ok, the flats were better than the coasters but I think that I enjoyed the park more due to the people I was with who made it awesome. Without them I most likely would have thought it was a bit poor.

Saturday 12th April

The day for me started an hour earlier than planned as I had left my curtains open so when the sun shone through them at 6:30 I was wide awake. I had packed the night before so I couldn't occupy myself with that.

Got to ATTACKHAMMER's by 8:15 awaiting the arrival of Sue who had given us the time bracket of 'between 8:30 and 9:00'. 9:10 she arrived with a Mike in front. Mike had made a FAB CD of cheesy music like 'Teenage Dirtbag' (which we later changed to 'Teenage Credwhore'), 'Stacey's Mom' and 'We're Going to Ibiza'.

Pleasure Island

Our first park of the weekend was Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes. From Cambridge it was a good 2 and a half hour drive. We were planning to meet MouseAT at around 11:30 but alas it wasn't until 12:30 that we finally arrived, Mouse had already been at the park a couple of hours, so had to endure the park much longer than we did. Poor bloke.

10247335_10202990301712887_1353305808799302973_n.jpg

The park, in my opinion looked pretty decent. I think it would look better on a sunny day given that almost every building was painted in a pastel colour of some sort.
10177384_10202990304192949_6762815357053746296_n.jpg

It appeared to me they weren't ready for the 'busy season' yet. A few food places were shut as well as a tat shop. We wanted to ride the coasters first 'just in case'. It'd be awful seeing a coaster go round and it breakdown later and due to FAFF we didn't get the cred.

On the way to the Boomerang this 'special' dinosaur made me chuckle
10151349_10202990302352903_5803532517009464682_n.jpg

So up first was Boomerang the Boomerang. This was my first proper Boomerang (I have ridden Ben 10 at Drayton Manor but that's a junior Boomerang) and I had heard nothing but bad reports about how poor Boomerangs are but I like to make up my own opinions so entered with an open mind.

10268468_10202990308553058_7819533525021812057_n.jpg

I actually thought it was pretty reasonable, certainly not as bad as everyone had been telling me. It was rough yes, but not to the point that I felt uncomfortable. The original release was great, it gives you no warning and just releases and I really like coming backwards round the loop, I remember liking Revolution at BPB for this reason. We decided it deserved a reride. 2nd time wasn't as good as the 1st but I still reasonably liked the coaster.

Next up was the next cred of the day, The Mini Mine Train, a Vekoma Junior Coaster.
10264489_10202990316393254_9043840326296578355_n.jpg

10259765_10202990315993244_3505231531880374366_n.jpg

Not exciting, I like how it goes over a small lake, I like creds over water <3 but it was really rather dull and didn't do very much. +1. Mike and Sue didn't get on the first train so had to go after.
10157338_10202990317513282_3086786965862577499_n.jpg

We wondered over to what could have been the third cred of the day, the spiteful 'Go Gator'.
10268647_10202990325913492_5248047728551867713_n.jpg

We had already emailed the park asking if we would be allowed to ride and they said no so we weren't particularly hopeful. Despite much eyelid fluttering from your's truly it was not to be (perhaps that's why they call me not so hot) and we were denied the cred. #CredDenier

So the rest of the time was now given over to trying the rest of the magical looking rides on park. We were next to the Shrieksville Ghost Train. We weren't expecting much especially after seeing the blatant-rip-off cars which were themed as jeeps rather than anything remotely related to a haunted house or anything. This is the best picture I can find of them
34.jpg

It was actually really good, made us all jump a couple of times. I got the feeling they had really tried to make this as scary as they could. I was glad it hadn't been turned into a shooter as well, it was nice to actually watch and take in your surroundings.

Next up was Gravitron.
10169406_10202990303872941_3293350043395351277_n.jpg

I'd heard about similar things where the room spins and you are pinned to the wall as the floor drops. I suppose this was similar. You lean against, what I thought was like a stretcher. The ride begins to spin, faster and faster and faster. You feel heavier, you can't lift your arms, legs or head. Suddenly the 'stretcher' lifts up from the spinning force so your feet are no longer touching the floor. It was fantastic fun, probably the best ride of the day, I wish we'd done it again now.

The Hyperblaster was next, a shot and drop tower.
pleasure_island00258strata-large.jpg

I'd head of such things but didn't realise this was one, I just thought it was your average drop tower so you can imagine my shock when, after sitting doing not very much for a few seconds, being launched up suddenly. I can't remember exactly what I screamed but it caused much merriment for others when I **** myself.

Ride Galleon next. Just your typical pirate ship. Nothing particularly exciting.

Alakazam was next.
10154097_10202990305192974_7349445857897317160_n.jpg

10155389_10202990305552983_3232585508180839474_n.jpg

From when I first saw this in the park I knew I wanted to ride it. It looked fantastic, despite the Volare restraints which I had been told are vile. The way you get into the restraint is weird. You have to sort of climb into it, put your elbows in little dips whilst holding onto freezing cold bars. You also have to balance your feet on some sort of ladder thin. I imagine these restraints are worse if you're tall. The back of the restraint is then lowered pinning you in. The ride starts spinning and you are flung outwards as the whole thing lifts up to become verticle. Imagine an Enterprise because Alakazam is very similar, in fact it is called a Flyaway Enterprise. First it spins forward which is all very fun, then just when you feel that enough is enough and you want to get off you have to endure a whole cycle backwards. I enjoyed the ride but it could have done with being half the length.

Up next was Century 2000.
1601224_10202990319273326_7640260611633248747_n.jpg

Pretty decent. Like a frog jumping thing I'd done at a Cambridge funfair. It was several cars of alternating colours, red and blue. Each colour takes it in turn to jump. I remember Mike asking me as the ride started in the car behind me, 'I wonder which side jumps up first'. Next I hear was 'aaaarrrrrrrgggghhhh'. Turns out blue went first XD. It was an OK ride, pretty unremarkable.

We decided to head over to the sealion show. It was a cross between a sealion stunt show and an educational show. It was pretty dull to be fair with a couple of sealions occasionally jumping and clapping.
10245451_10202990320713362_148972235057443603_n.jpg

10152582_10202990321353378_2048289314742106172_n.jpg

I got some video footage which I shall post when I can be bothered.

Apparently Jared was in the park with Charlotte, so we headed over to the Dodgems to meet him. A new CF member cred! Woo. We didn't ride the Dodgems but instead headed over to The Astra Slide.
10007435_10202990322473406_7627369054303994095_n.jpg

The top of the Astra Slide gave some pretty cool high up views of the park.
1511240_10202990321873391_2132338479360386701_n.jpg

Burdenously, only 3 of the 6 slides were open so only 3 could race at a time. ATTACKHAMMER insisted we raced as I have always beaten him on slides (Depth Charge for example). It started well, I was well in the lead but I relaxed too soon and overtook me at the bottom. My unbeaten streak was over. I was very sad.

We headed over to the Boomerang and had another reride. It was much rougher by now which was quite disappointing as I had enjoyed it in the morning.

Next was the indoor carousel.
10006212_10202990323593434_1245573928782222398_n.jpg

Don't think I had done an indoor one before. I noticed that each of the horses had a name, Sue rode Ian I believe so I was on the look out for a Jordan. In doing so the carousel began moving before I managed to climb aboard so I just jumped up and it turned out I was riding Kelly.

Up next was the Paratrooper. I had never ridden one but apparently they used to be quite common. Have a picture of Mike and Mouse clearly looking forward to the off.
10255487_10202990324473456_1988248338771336940_n.jpg

Pretty dull to be honest. Moving on...

There was a slide. A water slide. A slide which seemed interesting. A slide which had...a dead end.
10167960_10202990313153173_3962009018575672553_n.jpg

This is probably the longest we queued for anything all day, a good 10 minutes. Whilst at the top waiting...with the wind cutting through you we spied on the nearby Thorpe Park.
10246448_10202990329513582_1128120347684178650_n.jpg

At the bottom of the slide I got spashed so much, I was rather annoyed because it wasn't a particularly warm day :/

The penultimate ride of the day was Tinkaboo's Sweet Adventure.
10004049_10202990326393504_6503191244458416836_n.jpg

1623570_10202990328073546_3139336391533645646_n.jpg

Jared had ridden it already and said it was a blatant Bubble Works rip off. Long in the short of it, it was. But I love these things. A small boat floating around various themed rooms, so FAB.

The final ride of the day was the booster, named Hydromax.
10175016_10202990304512957_955992098010164239_n.jpg

Sue had been umming and ahhing about the ride all day as she had never ridden one before. I'd only ever ridden one at the Midsummer Fair in Cambridge so thought I'd go on with Mouse and Charlotte. The forwards cycle went by without a hitch but then it happened. The ride broke down with myself, Mouse and Charlotte stuck 50 odd meters in the air. All ATTACKHAMMER and Sue could think of doing was tweeting and putting pictures on Facebook whilst laughing at our displeasure.
1625758_10200863881118064_6411286105456975902_n.jpg

This pictures is one Sue took of us actually at the top.
10168015_984419180920_6415805221703023744_n.jpg

I'm not to keen on Boosters as it is because they hold you up the top for so long whilst loading/unloading. Ok, so you might say 'well nothing is gonna happen' and I know that but after 20 minutes being stuck at the top of one rational though isn't necessarily the easiest thing :p
It finally started to move again and we had to endure a full cycle again. Great.

Once the ride had finished, thanks to being stuck for so long it was pretty much time to leave. I enjoyed the park because there were so many different rides I had never ridden before. Would I go back? I probably would actually, it was a decent day. Obviously the fantastic company made it even better, such a laugh, but I think the park is actually good, with things that were old yet fun, esp Gravitron.

We moved on from Pleasure Island and on to The Dunes Complex. I have never been in a convertible, so Sue put the roof down. It was certainty exhilarating...just very very windy. I took a convertible selfie.

The Dunes Complex

Time was now getting on. On our way from Cleethorpes to Skegness where our B&B was we stopped off in Mablethorpe to ride the Miner Mike at the Dunes Complex. I have never seen such a simple looking cred.

1509649_10202990331033620_5089033527413989309_n.jpg

I'm not going to sit here and give you detailed opinions. Just look at it, it's hardly Nemesis is it? +1

That was it for the day. We travelled to our B&B in Skegness where Sue originally walked into the B&B next to ours who clearly weren't expecting a group of 5 rowdy coaster enthusiasts to turn up at their front door. The hotel is unique in that it offers themed rooms, The Titanic Suite, Elvis Presley Suite, Camelot Suite. They looked fab. Sadly we didn't get one. ATTACKHAMMER and I shared (I bagged the double, huehuehue), Mike and Sue shared. Their bathroom was laughably small.

We congregated in Mouse's room. He had is own family room as he booked separately. We waited for DelPiero and Darren B to arrive. Once they had it was off to find the nearest Wetherspoon's. Being the genius that I am I had forgotten my passport so had no proof of ID that I was 18. Had to suffer with coke. Burden. But we bought booze later and went back to Mouse's room.

We played a few goon games starting with one that Darren had composed. Someone suggests a topic and then you go round the group with an answer to that topic. For example, Log Flumes that aren't called Log Flume. So we had 'Logger's Leap', 'The Flume', as well as many others. Other topics included names of drop towers, Intamin accelerators (where I rather stupidly named Bizzaro when I meant Furious Baco, I know, I'm a fool). We got on to an A to Z of obscene words, A for Arse, B for Bastard...you get the idea. We got to Q and the best anyone could do was 'Quaffle', hence the name of the topic.

That was pretty much day one of the trip over. 3 new creds taking me up to the grand total of 72. The next day would see many more creds and parks. Stay tuned, thanks for reading.

Sunday 13th April

Day two promised plenty more creds and parks. I set my alarm for 7:30 for both ATTACKHAMMER and I to have a shower (not together, you sick people) before breakfast at 8:30. I sat with Darren and DelPiero and we all had a fry up. DelPiero or Darren (can't remember who) had the genius idea of putting the knobs of butter on the hot teapot to melt it slightly to make it easier to spread on toast. Genius.

We had a fantastic view from our room
10246570_10202990335633735_4544745331325160320_n.jpg

I took a selfie in the television

never done that before I bet, have you Taylor? ;)

Botton's Amusement's

We checked out of the guest house and made our way to Botton's Amusement park in Skegness
10151151_10202990343713937_3965875170155062705_n.jpg

It's a 'pay per ride' park so we had a quick run around to see how many tokens we needed for the four creds. Some rode the ghost train first
10153277_10202990341593884_2166578759824416399_n.jpg

Next was the first cred of the day, Queen Bee
10171221_10202990341313877_8762823202902310615_n.jpg

The design of the train is the only thing going for it, they are really rather fab
10151206_10202990344073946_238256708249990865_n.jpg

Apart from this, Queen Bee is probably the most dull coaster I've ridden. It is so terribly boring. I've ridden coasters I didn't like because they were spine-shatterinly uncomfortable but this didn't even have that, I could quite easily have fallen asleep.

Up next was Runaway Train
10256447_10202990346754013_7759600872883213555_n.jpg

Just a typical runaway mine train really, nothing particularly exciting, however I did like the mountain in the middle of the track. +1

Again, another +1.

The last cred at the park was easily the best. Rockin Roller

Darren, Sue, Mike and DelPiero rode in 'Little Richard'
11913_10202990349114072_341470390425049089_n.jpg

I rode with ATTACKHAMMER and Mouse. It was actually decent, a fair amount of spinning throughout the whole coaster, it turned the corners roughly but I've yet to ride a spinner that doesn't take corners roughly.

That was it for Botton's. It's a decent enough park I suppose but I doubt you'd want time to 'enjoy' the park, having it as part of a cred run is just fine :p

Fantasy Island

1922189_10202990372194649_2709323336408619902_n.jpg

Despite everyone but Sue taking a wrong turn (imagine that) Sue still arrived last to the park. It was another 'Pay per Ride' park except this time, instead of buying tokens you top up a card with the value of cost of each coaster which I think is a really good way of doing it.

Fantasy Island had 3 creds on offer. Usually it would be 4 (5 if you include the spiteful kiddy cred, Jellikins) but Jubilee Odyssey is currently undergoing a refurb. We got in the queue for the Fantasy Mouse but as time was ticking we decided to go to the walk on Rhombus Rocket in the hope the queue for the Mouse would go down

1506531_10202990359754338_3308334220400046228_n.jpg

It's a reasonable coaster. Nothing much happens, it has a decent length though which is always good in a coaster. +1

We then headed back to the Fantasy Mouse

It was better than Rockin Roller at Botton's. The spinning was much more enjoyable and comfortable with much less jerking. If we had the time it would certainly have been worth a reride. DelPiero and Mike clearly enjoyed themselves
1544532_10202990362954418_3312551756122364641_n.jpg

We then headed out of the park to get in the queue for Millenium Coaster. I love how you actually had to leave the park to join the queue.

I wasn't really expecting much and I was right not to. It was ok, it was, if anything, too smooth. The best moment is the speed it gathers as it banks back into the ride station.

Have some pictures of a combination of Millennium Coaster and JO

After that we grabbed a quick bite to eat and moved on to the next cred. Little Dipper on the seafront.

Mack's Amusements

We weren't sure if the coaster was still there given the recent storms in the area. Earlier on in the day, Sue found a telephone number of a sweet shop opposite the cred, gave them a ring and asked if the cred was open. It was a kindly old lady she spoke to who said yes...but not convincingly. CoasterForce tweeted this picture of the area completely flooded by the sea
[tweet]https://twitter.com/CoasterForce/status/408725134019923968[/tweet]

Thankfully it was still up and running.

We all got on one train. Sue spited me by getting the back row. I forgave her though and we took a selfie.

I have never travelled up a slower lift hill XD but once you got over the top it gathered pace rather urgently. If we were going any faster I'm sure we'd have been able to experience some airtime ;)

DelPiero left us at this point to get the creds we'd gotten yesterday at Pleasure Island. We then made the 65 mile journey west across Lincolnshire and into Yorkshire for Clifton Park.

Clifton Park

Clifton Park had 2 creds on offer, one of which was a Go Gator which we were holding out no hope of getting. Annoyingly, we parked on the opposite end of the park compared with where the creds were. Darren was looking at Google Maps for evidence of the creds

Sue had a loo break. We of course all applauded her return.

The park...creeeeeeds :D

We asked the ride op of the Go Gator if adults could ride as it was another 'pay per ride' park. Amazingly, SHE SAID YES! We got our tokens and boarded. It was my first Go Gator. It was amazing! Ok, it wasn't but it was great to actually ride a Go Gator.

I filmed a POV (lol) which I promise I will post at a later date ;)

Up next was the Log Coaster, named simply, Roller Coaster. Turns out this is the relocated cred from Gullivers MK, much to the annoyance of ATTACKHAMMER who already had the cred. Huehuehue.

Another +1 so I wasn't complaining.

Sherwood Forest Fun Park

The last cred of the day, Caterpillar Coaster, awaited 25 miles south of Clifton Park. I was in Darren's car and we were following Mouse who brilliantly read the signs for amusement park rather than following the signs for Sherwood Forest. This turned out to be a good call as the 3 of us rocked up just as the cred was closing. We had to persuade the ride op to let us ride but he allowed us.

To our amazement it went backwards too! It was a great way to finish off an excellent weekend.

Once we got off we began to wonder. What has happened to Sue and Co? Whilst watching cricket Darren gave ATTACKHAMMER a call. Apparently they had turned into the Sherwood Forest park and gotten lost. Whilst waiting for them to arrive we watched some cricket
972305_10202990393475181_4929000344807853340_n.jpg

It was a good 20 minutes before Sue, ATTACKHAMMER and Mike arrived. By this time everything in the park had been turned off and the ride op was just making his final preparations before leaving with his lunchbox. It looked like Sue, ATTACKHAMMER and Mike had been spited. (huehuehue). Darren and Mouse left and went their separate ways. Sue was about to give up but decided it was worth grovelling. The op instantly said no, it was too late but Sue wasn't going to give up that easily. Somehow she managed to persuade him to let them on so they also go the 11th and final cred of the day.

And that was pretty much it. We made the burdenously long drive back to Cambridge. Sue insisted ATTACKHAMMER and I guided her down the infamous Cherry Hinton High Street as Stone Cold has hated on the place for years. We blared out Teenage Dirtbag with the windows fully down. We dropped ATTACKHAMMER off. Sue then drove me down to the docks to Nealbie's Uni flat where I would be spending the night. We all said our goodbyes before I headed up to his flat. He cooked me spag bol and it was delicious! He also made Strongbow Fruit Cider popsicles after Koppaberg tweeted the idea as an April Fools joke earlier this month

Eating them at midnight on the side of London docks just seemed perfect

We played xbox games late into the night before it was time to hit the sack.

It was a fantastic fabulous day. 11 new creds and I spent the evening with a great friend. Thank you everyone who came on the cred run for making it truly brilliant. Thank you for reading :D

NB I'm currently making a video of the weekend. Up soon!

Is it me or is there deja vu on the photos?

I feel ill just looking at Pleasure Island.

Thorpe Park is one of the best caravan sites I've stayed on for free. It's better than the other Thorpe Park :p

I think people have summed up the epic weekend pretty well. It involved a lot of driving (which for a newly qualified driver was pretty daunting but has done wonders for my confidence behind the wheel), and there were loads of laughs to be had with everyone else who attended. Despite cramming in so many parks and creds the whole weekend somehow felt relatively laid back, to the credit of everyone who attended.

Pleasure Island feels like it's where rides go to die. It's got that Camelot vibe of a park that's slowly dying, and it's not much fun to wander around by yourself on a cold, overcast morning. That said, there are plenty of old, dodgy looking but entertaining flat rides there, so if you're with a bunch of like-minded goons who don't take things too seriously then it's actually a pretty fun place to spend a day. It was good to catch up with Jared and Charlotte as well, as I'd not seen them for absolutely ages.

Fantasy Island doesn't rate particularly highly either, at least without Odyssey. I can imagine being able to have a really good day there if everything was running and (again) I was with a good group of friends, but with no Odyssey, no shot tower and me not risking riding Beast with so much driving ahead of us, it turned into a quick "grab the creds and something to eat, then move on" job, and I can't say I felt like I was missing out.

The remaining parks were all just cred runs. There was nothing there of any real note, so each park followed the same routine of turning up, getting tokens, riding the coasters and then moving on. All of which was a lot more fun than I'm making it sound here.

I have to give a massive thumbs up to the ride operator at Sherwood Forest for re-opening the caterpillar not just once but twice, well after the park had closed. What a top bloke. Thanks to Darren for talking said ride op into re-opening it for us, and well done Mysterious Sue for managing to talk him into opening the ride a second time some 15-odd minutes later so that everyone else could get the cred.

Bring on Easter Monday for the next cred run!

We planned this as a quick cred run at Bottons followed by a full day at Fantasy Island to whore the hell out of Odyssey, unfortunately Odyssey was closed as was Volcano for investment. Because of this we amended the trip significantly.
Saturday started with a long old drive (3 hours) to meet Darren at Rainbow Park in Hunstanton.
Pleasantries were exchanged and we jumped on Sea Dragon, cred 1

IMG_2512.jpg

The only interesting thing about this was that it coasted over the roof. It was slow, it was crap +1 done after 3 circuits.

Back on the road for a further 2 hour drive to Skeggy.

Eventually reached the Glendale and faffed around parking the cars, checked in and met up with the rest of the group, who were all gooning around in Andy's room.
It was great to see Andy, Jordan, Dan and Sue again and met Mike for the first time.
Talk quickly turned to the plan for the following day and heard stories about their day, they had spent most of the day at Pleasure Island.
Food was discussed so we decided on the local weatherspoons, where both Dan and Jordan were spited the alcohol cred. Dan took photos of his food.

We discussed my recent trip to Europa and inadvertently started a trims conversation, that was fun.
Anyhoo, got a few beers and went back to the hotel for goon activities.

Realized I'm really not very goony when hearing the others recite different log flumes and B&Ms. Totally screwed up my own accelerator start up, stupidly.
Then the best topic, rude and offensive words.
Quaffle, and the subsequent links to further Quidditch had us rolling around, I'm pretty sure Sue peed a little.
Darren obliterated everyone, dirty boy.

Went to bed and had some more coaster chat with Darren, we spooned, farted and snored the night away.

Had a good fry up at the hotel and then went cred hunting, Bottons didn't open until 11 so we faffed around at an arcade for 45 mins. I failed on guitar hero whilst Jordan went all put to win a Ben10 prize on the 2p machines.

Bottons opened and we got our tokens, me and Sue took a ride on the ghost train.

IMG_2515.jpg

It was diabolically bad. The fences didn't go all the way up to the ceiling and the animatronics were rubbish. The only saving grace was the sex doll in a spiked coffin with a surprised expression.

Cred 2 - Queen Bee

IMG_2513.jpg

Interesting suspended big apple, 3 across seating. That's all that was interesting.

Cred 3 - Runaway Train

IMG_2514.jpg

Proper rubbish, paper machete theming was falling apart. +1

Big Apple was number 4

IMG_2516.jpg

It was a big apple.

Then the best coaster in the park. Rockin Roller, cred 5.

IMG_2517.jpg

We had me and Darren on the ends and the spinning was brutal but brilliant, we all came off smiling.

All 4 Creds obtained we moved onto Fantasy Island.

A massive inverted was to spite us but while Sue was being a burden I jumped on the Top Scan, The Beast.

IMG_2518.jpg

Took ages, about 15 mins to start the cycle and felt very burdonous to the rest of the group but when it finally started it was pretty good. Really forceful and brutal, massive cycle, much better than Samurai.

Eventually got off and a load of us went to pick up the creds, first was cred 6, Rhombus' Rocket.

IMG_2520.jpg

Decent powered coaster, long circuit but uneventful.

Then was Fantasy Mouse, cred 7.

IMG_2519.jpg

Me and Mike went together, we got some decent spin but Rockin Roller was the better spinner.

We then met up with Darren and Sue at cred 8, Millennium.

Easily the smoothest Vekoma I've ridden, but still poor. The drop is weak, the loops have minimal force and there are too many straights/minor banked turns. It doesn't do much, but it's still better than most boomerangs.

We quickly went on Toucan Tours as per Hot Jordan's recommendation.

We laughed all the way through, due to it being that rubbish. Nothing stood out, more disappointing than the ghost train.

Creds and couple of others done we decided to head to Cleethorpes to try and get the Mack's cred.
Sue has been super sleuth and called the sweet shop opposite and they said it was open so we drove up there.
Dan shared my car and we had some goon chat, he's a nice chap who made the mistake of asking me about Skyrush. Half an hour of Skyrush fawning and we were parking up to find a working cred!

IMG_2521.jpg

I snagged the front to feel the lift hill hang, which was awesome, and got some weird bumpy airtime on the first hill lolz.

IMG_2522.jpg

Happy to pick this up as we all thought the storms had destroyed it, god knows how long it will last.

With cred 9 done, the other goons decided to head to Clifton for more creds. I hadn't been to Pleasure Island before so said some very rushed goodbyes and took the short drive down to PI.

The park was dead so I rushed around picking up anything and everything.

First up was Gravitron.

IMG_2530.jpg

So freaking awesome! I've always liked the fairground ones of these, but never been on an indoor one.
Dan's description is perfectly apt, stretchers against the wall that move when the gravity overcomes it. I found my face feel super weird but couldn't stop smiling, it actually hurt to smile that much. Immediate re ride. Fab.

Then decided cred 10 was in order so the mine train was next.

IMG_2527.jpg

Pretty rubbish, 2 circuits, boring +1.

Tried to get on the Go Gator but wasn't even allowed to try to fit. Huge spite.

Having heard that Hyperblaster was decent I walked onto that.

The shot was good, airtime at the top was good, then some minor drops and shots, which were ok.

Wandered around the park skipping the volare restraint vile looking machine and made my way to the final cred of the trip, Boomerang.

IMG_2524.jpg

Nabbed front seat as was walk on, and waited for the pain. Surprisingly it wasn't that bad. Backwards gave me a minor headache but all in all, probably the best boomerang I've ridden. That's not saying much though.

Then went on Pendulus, which had some very tight head restraints.

IMG_2525.jpg

Had to wait about 5 mins while no other riders came, then swung back and forth with a bit of spin. Some decent airtime, then started spinning crazily, was good fun.

Next was an empty Obliviator.

IMG_2526.jpg

The reason this was empty was apparent. My description to the ride op was "Vile in every way imaginable". I stand by this statement.
Worse than an inverting pirate ship, I will NEVER go on one of these again. Cage style restraints with multiple upside down portions. Urgh, so, so vile.

Wandered around taking pics and realized there was 5 mins until closing so did Shrieksville.

IMG_2529.jpg

This was fab, loved it. Scary entrance, weird vehicles, working animatronics including a scary looking spider. Really good, exit line was also themed.
Herded through a random shop so bought a Shrieksville magnet, as it was awesome.

PI seems like a decent park to do with a group, I'm not surprised the goons had a good time on the Saturday. But it's a flat park. If you don't like flats then just get the creds and leave as they aren't re rideable.

Park was closing so I left, with a nasty 4 hour drive to follow. Managed to pick up 11 creds at the weekend, much more than I anticipated.

Best thing about the weekend was the company though, hopefully Sue will remember me next time I see her and it was nice to have longer chats with everyone else rather than 5 mins here and there like at the lives.

Believe it or not I do actually finish trip reports! Here's the evidence!

Jordan and I woke up at about 7:30 I think, an hour before breakfast. Speaking of breakfast:

As you can see it was good and I forgot to take a photo until the end.

I then took some photos of Jordan and I's room:

Then it opened so we got some tokens:

Then we did Rockin Roller:

I did not think it was very good.

Then I hoped back in Darren's Golf and the convoy headed to Fantasy Island!

Whilst waiting for Sue and Mike, we got some tokens and went past the spiteful creed, boo that.

It was decent, certainly the smoothest Vekoma that I have done. The first part of the coaster with the inversions was good but after that it was a bit dull.

Then it was time for food. Jordan, Mike and I went to a chippy and got sausage and chips with gravy!!! While in Rome and all that.

I rode with Tom to Cleethorpes to ride the coaster that came back from the brink of death! Little Dipper!
We had an excellent long talk about coasters, which I loved!
Then we arrived got tokens and met the others!

A fantastic little coaster was so fab! So glad I got to ride it!

We then said goodbye to Tom who went to Pleasure Island and I jumped in the Saab with Sue and Mike and drove to Rotherham. On the way we played fab games like the A to Z of crisps!
Also on the way I looked up what we going to ride, to the amusement of the others it was the Log Coaster that used to be at Gullivers MK, that I had ridden before.

We started by riding the Go Gator, my first! I was very excited!

All of us were allowed on at once!

Simply Fab!

The Log Coaster or Rollercoaster as it is called now is vile!

The drop of pain

We then drove to Sherwood forest. Sadly the Sat Nav took us here:

With no creds insight, a phone call from Darren arrived saying that the others had the now closed creed.

As Precious from Come Fly With Me would say 'closed'.

But goons don't just stare at a closed cred and give up!
So we found the man who after much persuasion allowed us on!!
He was a fab man!
The delight on Sue's face sums up the achievement!

Was a bit of a squash, but it was so worth it for an SBF Visa Group Caterpillar Coaster with an oval layout!

We all then went our separate. I can't thank everyone enough, the laughs were just fab!!! Everyone was brilliant!
Special thanks to those who allowed me in their cars!
Thanks for reading.

Think you could have said 'fab' a bit more.

My favourite bit was the 'Jordan and I's room'. Tried so hard yet failed so deeply ;)

Good report! :)

Because I am very organised, it has only taken me 3 weeks to finally do a video of the first day, Pleasure Island. I didn't get as much footage as I wanted to it is rather short.

Let me know what people think :)
