PortAventura opens its 2012 season

More details on Oktoberfest:

On the 8th, 9th and 10th of September PortAventura will be holding Oktoberfest for the first time ever. It will be a separate event. Only Far West, Mediterranea and Mexico will be available with multiple shows and rides open until 2am. PA sure are extending their opening hours this season! (Ha! Alton, take good note :lol: )

Tickets just for the event are 8,50 € for adults and 5 € for kids/seniors. I don't know if Season Pass Holders will be able to attend for free...

Nope. Hotel guests and season pass holders have to pay 5 € to get in, which IMO is a shame, considering how much you have already paid.

There has been quite a bit off whining from season pass holders on the park's FB page due to this decision...

The ride has been closed this past weekend due to restraint that came broken to the station. Apparently, the cable has also snapped, like Rita's, with no injuries... A new cable is on its way (unlike Alton, that always have a spare one).

As much as I love the ride, I honestly think PA should make a decision, shut the ride and work with Intamin to solve the problems that have plagued the ride since day 1 (mainly the trains).
