Orlando for New Year

My dad has decided that for New Year 2010/11 we'll be holidaying in Orlando and seeing as I've never been this time of year I have a few questions, as I find I always get good feedback from you guys.

1) What are the crowds like? In terms of how long should I expect to be queueing

2) What's the weather like? Is it still hot, are all the water rides still open, are the waterparks open? Anything weather related really.

3) Are there any must-do events for the New Year, the only I can find at the moment is the one that's in the Magic Kingdom.

4) Does anything close for the winter?

Thanks, please feel free to tell me about anything else I may have missed out!

Question 1 Hell. After the 26th of December when we went the crowds poured in it was bliss before that. The staff say it happens every year around the same date. Christmas is far better than new year see here. http://www.christmasinorlando.com/ (We will gladly reccomend Gay Lord Palms Hotel Ice Palace Ice slides as well!) New year is just hell. To put it bluntly we went to Epcot on the 24th it was nice and empty and Soring was 25 mins. On 26th we could barely move and it was 3 hours!! (It was due to the crowds not any fault with the rides.)
Question 2 Comfortable with the perhaps the odd thunder storm. http://www.orlando-weather.us/
Question 3 I do not know we look it up before we go. But I do recommend the Segway tour, its a bit of fun on a Segway personal transporter before the park fully opens before the public going all the way round the world. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours- ... -at-epcot/ . My advice is to book as soon as you get there as it is very popular.
Question 4 only a few things check before you go.

Also go on this is you feel up to it. > www.skycoaster.cc

Feel free to ask more and if I remember any thing else I will post.l
