I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Up never underwent the Imax DMR process. What that means is that your only seeing standard digital projection (which isn't as good as 35mm film to begin with) stretched out on a very large screen.

Well, to be aimed at kids, yes it sort of fails because I thought it was scary and I could see kids thinking the same, or even being bored by it. But, being a 17 year old and not a young kid, I actually quite liked it.
I never understood how Imax was three dimensional.. 3D is when things like, pop out of the screen, whereas, Imax is just a BIG screen.. Not really 3D.
Going to watch "Away We Go" now.

Away We Go
The third of three new released I decided to rent, and watch.. And I'm happy to day, all three movies ended up being very good. I liked this, I mean it wasn't superb, but the characters were very genuine and likeable, and it had its funny moments for sure, a few laugh out loud ones too. Even if it wasn't hilarious, sometimes I prefer to get away from those movies that, even though they're hilarious, the humour is all slapstick and refers to sex or something.. This had like, actual funny parts in it, not just references to penis or boners or vagina, although there were some references to vaginas for sure but you'd have to have seen the movie to know what I mean. And even when it WAS slapstick, it didn't really.. I dunno, feel forced like in some movies.
Good stuff, nothing out of this world, but a good movie that didn't bore me, and had me laughing at some bits.
