Not so much 'fall in' but I think I get, and agree with, your point. But only if we're talking about too many lateral forces, rather than 'falling into' the restraint. Falling in is fine with a lap restraint, as evidenced by many slow Mack inversions, and for me, and I imagine other tall folk too, is preferable to having the top of your shoulder smash into the restraint. Too many laterals though, with no upper body support, can be, erm, interesting.
Hmm, that's interesting. I'd say the complete opposite. With those old Schwarzkopf loopers (only done the Looping Star and Silver Arrow, to be honest), the positive Gs are enough that you never even think about having a lap bar. But most coasters with a vertical loop can run slowly, even Nemesis, and I've definitely fallen downward (towards the ground) when coming out of a vertical loop. In which case, your shoulders fall into the OTSR (forwards, not upwards), which is quite comfortable.
Without the OTSR, I feel like you would need your abdominal muscles to support you. I know Drakon doesn't have a vertical loop, but I can't imagine going down a 95-degree drop with just a lap bar. I suppose it works, though, as a few coasters have that set-up. With laterals, though (I'm thinking Cannonball Express), I'd definitely rather take the blow with my body than my neck!
Another thing is Sik vs Colossus. I know some people do prefer the inline twists on Colossus because of the OTSR.
