New amusement park for Macao?

Thought I would post this since @roomraider didn't even know anything about it, as plans to build an amusement park at Hac Sa Beach in Macao, China, have been unveiled. Set to debut in 2021, the leisure zone will offer family entertainment facilities and youth adventure and farming experiences. Not sure about farming experiences at an amusement park, especially a seaside one, but whatevs. Maybe they'll build a cred for @gavin to schedule a visit. :p

Haven't heard a thing about it. It'll be interesting to see how "world class" it turns out to be. Spoiler alert: it won't be.

Macau desperately needs a cred, but with the whole Hengqin Island stuff (Chimelong Ocean Kingdom) just across the border, I can't see a decent park being on the cards.

As @ECG mentioned this is a new one for me. Interested to see what happens if anything.

A few years ago Dynamic Attractions apparently sold an SFX coaster to a Casino in Macau but since the original talk of the ride its gone completely dead.

Whats the visa situation with Maccau and Hengqin Island @gavin . I assume its still that you need a Chinese Visa to get over to Ocean Kingdom from Macau but i swear i read something a while back they were looking at that?

Strange. Those coasters seem like you can just order them in a box, plug them together, and have them up and running by the next morning. Wonder why they could have wanted to cancel that deal?

It's still basically impossible to travel at the moment. There are a few exceptions, but there's essentially no real movement between Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau.

Technically, because of my Hong Kong residency, I think I could go to Macau, but I'd have to get a negative Covid test here, then quarantine for 14 days on arrival in Macau, then do the same once I got back. A "day trip" to Macau would take a month. Going to Zhuhai from there isn't on the table.

Mainland China isn't an option at all, even with the kind of ID I have here since it's not a travel document (unless you're arriving in or departing from Hong Kong) and I'd still be entering on a UK passport. Foreigners are gradually being let back in, but only from certain countries and not on tourist visas. Local Hong Kongers can technically go, and Mainland Chinese can technically come here, but again it's subject to Covid tests and quarantine, making it pointless unless it's for the long-term.

There are talks of a travel bubble between Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong Province, but it's not getting anywhere. Logistically, the Hong Kong-Macau thing could potentially work if it's based on HK and Macau residency (we all have ID cards) but once you open it to Guangdong, it's more difficult to ensure only people from that province of China are coming in and out, not that Guangdong is any more or less safe than the rest of China anyway. Plus, trying to get all three sides to agree on the same conditions isn't happening and none will agree to anything that isn't "fair" to them.

TLDR: Can't go f**king anywhere yet.
