I was going through some old boxes and found my old Klaus Nomi CD. I'd completely forgotten about him, but have had him on repeat for the last couple of days.

He's awesome.

I saw a video of him doing a live perfomance a couple of months before he died, or something ages ago. It was rather creepy.

Checked out Klaus Nomi, kinda scared me more than anything, but brilliant whatever was going on!

Right, these guys have just came out, and there debut album is absolutely killer! This is amazing, it's the best hardcore album since Fake History by LetLive (in my opinion), so check these out!

Right so the album by The Mars Volta called Noctourniquet is officially released tomorrow, but because I had $30 I managed to pre-order a copy and it came on Saturday. I havent stopped listening to it since, it is a far-cry from their early style, but since most of their albums have a unique sound to them i'm not surprised. Most of the album has a main focus on vocals, drums (new drummer), and synths. While the majority of their album might have this focus dont think all hope is lost, their signature loud, and progressive sound is still here, and even some influence from At The Drive-In can be heard (mostly in the 3rd song Dyslexicon) here is a sample of the various musical influences that can be heard throughout the album, enjoy.

This album gets a 9/10 and is my Album of the Year thus far.

Ok, so it's not up there with Ray of Light or Confessions, but it's way better than American Life, Bedtime Stories or Music. The more I listen to it, the more I'm liking it. The first half is excellent: really fun "club" music. It falters a bit in the middle, but picks up again at the end.

It's not grabbed me yet, there are a few good songs but I'm just finding it very samey at the moment.

I love Masterpeace but to many songs have a feel of beautiful stranger and ray of light.

It all starts off well then dies then picks up again just to tail off. Tbh quiet a few madonna CDs do this.

I will listen to it again today but at the moment for me it's her third or 4th worst cd.

Edit.

Ok listened again and like it, some songs are very very good. I started thinking what it would be like at a club or concert and it works. It's not something to sit down and listen to but it's a bloody good driving cd.

REALLY good! It's actually a lot better than her first album, which wasn't really that good apart from a couple of tracks.

Personally, I'm not getting what all the fuss is with Nicki Minaj. I am clearly missing a point or 3 or something but her stuff is just not grabbing me :-/

I download a lot of music, every now and then I get a gem among the ****, but only once in a blue moon does an artist come along that I can describe as sounding sexy. But recently I found an artist that truly fits that description called Labyrinth Ear weird name. But the music can really only be described as sexy. It's electronic music, not really dance music, but it has a very smooth and refined sound set in the background of quiet and wonderful female vocals. Imagine if you will, calm Crystal Castles, with a smooth sound, it's wonderful to listen to, and is truly sexy.

Love these guys, please, I know it's not as popular as Niki Minaj, but just give them a listen, because it's a damn sight better.
