This week I have been told to self isolate for 10 days as someone who I live with has the big Rona, she still out in these streets so be careful, anyway because of this I have had plenty of free time at home to play some Planet Coaster. I have several unfished parks such as the Cedar Fair one and the zoo theme park, but I have currently hit a creative wall with those parks so I have put them on the back burner to work on this new park.

I love the architecture and natural beauty of Scandinavia and it's something that I wanted to recreate with this park. There are some obvious nods to existing parks such as Tusenfryd, Liseberg and Fårup Sommerland and wanted the park to have the same feel as those parks.

This park is going to be fairly small, as I plan to put a lot more detailing into my builds (and I want to get it done before I have to go back to work) . I have completed the first of three phases this park will have.

I should also point out that I aiming for this to be an amusement park rather than a theme park, not that I am just lazy (there is that) but because I love the style and atmosphere of those Scandinavian parks.

This is the entrance to the park which is inspired by Tusenfryd and Faarup Sommerland. The entrance building is similar to the entrance at Faarup. The coaster on the hill is inspired by Speed Monster at TusenFryd, but more onto that later. One of the main reasons for doing this park was to use hilly terrain to challenge me, but also to make my parks look more interesting and I believe it worked well here.

Another shot from above, I think this design works really well in terms of pacing as the train reaches it's top speed mid-way through the ride.

20210804142933_1.jpg
The ride looks more intimidating from the ground below.
20210804142948_1.jpg
At the entrance these stairs lead you to the top of the mountain, I love parks like Janfusun Fancyworld that have this sort of thing because it feels like you are going on a journey and leaving the real world behind. Ideally I would have escalators for that extra realism, but the main game doesn't have them so I hope someone may have made them in the steam workshop.

Eventually I will build a lift, even though I don't need one in game. I don't think any real world park would exclude disable access from the front gate!

20210804143007_1.jpg
On top of the hill is the parks main square, This is the hub of the park which guests choose which direction to go for certain attractions.
* In the centre of the square is the park's Carousel.
* The large cream coloured building is the Fjord Restaurant
20210804143311_1.jpg
The yellow building will be a sweet shop and the red will be the parks main gift shop. The white building in the corner is the donut stand. While the style of the building I was going for is usually found in Swedish coastal areas I felt that it would fit in, because theme parks and amusement parks often mesh several styles of buildings to make it look interesting or fanciful.
20210804143321_1.jpg

This is the parks "Photo-op" sign. To be honest this could of been done better and I may go back to re-work on it. I don't to make it look "too good" though as this park is really a small to mid budget park similar to TusenFryd.
20210804143031_1.jpg
This is one of the parks main midways as you walk right from the main square. The long blue building opposite is for midway games, at the moment I have just filled it with gift shops, but I plan to build my own custom midway stalls as the ones in steam, while fantastic, really eat up your FPS.
20210804143111_1.jpg
This is Orange Zipper the chairswing ride. Other than it's paint scheme and terrible name there isn't much to it.
20210804143059_1.jpg
Terror Twister - is the parks Huss Top Spin, which is lightly themed to a tornado ripping through an American western town.

20210804143132_1.jpg

Force One - Is a Intamin Accelerator, which is loosely themed to Formula 1 and is heavily inspired by Speed Monster. It is currently the stand out attraction of the park. The building behind the midway stalls is the maintenance shed for the transfer track.

The Stats:

Biggest Drop: 102ft
Max Speed: 61mph
Length: 2461ft
Inversions: 2
Airtime Count: 5
Duration: 76s

The on-ride photo booth for Force One.
20210804143244_1.jpg
This building which houses the Burger Cafe was inspired from the more traditional style of Nordic architecture.

I have began [Phase two] with this terrain conforming gravity group wooden coaster. For this design I decided to make the terrain before building the coaster to challenge myself a bit with the design and I think it worked out really well,
I used the valleys for the high speed turns and airtime hills, while the hills are used for the tallest sections of the ride. The ride isn't completed yet. It will feature plenty of trees and will have a some Viking theming.

20210804143430_1.jpg
This is the entire park so far, the wooden coaster is at the back of the park, so that is the scale of the park that I am building.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading this, I will be posting plenty of updates in the near future, I will try my best not to abandon this one like my movie park.
I also hope some of you will give me some feedback and advice on how to improve this park or tell me if there was anything you liked and would want to see more of.

Anyway I hope you're all happy, safe and healthy and keep on coastin'

Great start; the two coasters look brilliant, and the park looks to capture the Scandinavian vibe very nicely!

Here is Phase Two of Fantasipark. This new area contains 5 new rides, including a wooden roller coaster.
20210808195321_1.jpg I felt it would be good to open up the park a bit more, so I have built a large lake which the log flume partly uses. The bridge will connect to the rest of the park when the whole project is complete.
20210808195250_1.jpg
To get to the area guests walk down this path way from the top of the hill. I don't have a good name for the Log Flume yet so hit me up with suggestions! It is set in the woods and has some rock mountain theming.

20210808195350_1.jpg
This is the entrance to the Gravity Group wooden coaster 'VIDAR' named after the Norse god. Vidar is a son of Odin who kills the wolf Fenrir at Ragnarök to avenge his father. While I admit I was inspired by Wodan, to name my wooden coaster after a Norse god, I think it suits well with the Nordic vibes I am going with. After further research I discovered that Vidar was apparently also the god of silence, which might not be the best theme for a wooden coaster, but if Thorpe Park can get away with calling a Hydraulic launch coaster 'Stealth' I figured it could still work.

The station for Vidar.
20210808195449_1.jpg
The maintenance building, not tried building the transfer yet.
20210808195516_1.jpg
The Front half of the layout.
20210808195748_1.jpg
The back of the layout. Reminds me a bit of Wildfire at Kolmarden the more I look at it.
20210808195727_1.jpg
The whole layout.
20210808195625_1.jpg
"Ahhh the laterals!!!"
20210808195647_1.jpg
I love the affect the terrain has, in future I will look at doing more terrain coasters because once you get used to the terrain tool they are a lot of fun to make!
20210808195715_1.jpg
While the blue might not be very "Viking" I love the contrast with the brown wood.
20210808195814_1.jpg
Some more buildings, including a look out point for the non-riders to view the coaster in action.
20210808195833_1.jpg
Cyclone is a Gyro Swing ride which is "themed" to, you guessed it, a cyclone.
20210808201945_1.jpg
Those are some nice boulders.
20210808202020_1.jpgMaybe it was a bit daft of me to put a pirate ship next to a gyro swing, but I kind of like it, feels like with an older park it something that could happen as a ride has to go where there is space. It's all part of the masterplan, nothing "on the fly" about this.
20210808195903_1.jpg
Every park needs filler, he is one of my filler rides called 'Spider' for obvious reasons.
20210808200017_1.jpg
Here is the log flume which for now is just called 'Log Flume', I thought of maybe calling it "Fjord Falls", but I am hoping something a bit more creative.

That's it for now! I am working on Phase 3 now, which will include two roller coasters, a few flats and maybe a dark ride. Hope you enjoyed reading!

Looking really nice! I love all the Scandinavian-style buildings and the whole style you’re going for, and the terrain woodie looks like a great coaster!

All in all; great stuff! Can’t wait to see more!

After being delayed for many reasons I have finally got round to completing this park. I will admit that I was a bit fed up of it about 2/3rds of the way through so I chose to work on other parks instead, but now I finally got the motivation and I think it turned out quite well. So here it is Phase 3 of Fantasipark.

20211116144042_1.jpg
This is the first section I have worked on since my last post which was back in august 😅, Inside that giant building is "Golden Tomb" Which is an Adventure themed indoor coaster.
20211116143418_1.jpg 20211116144246_1.jpg
20211116144153_1.jpg20211116144110_1.jpg
This is my first attempt at building an indoor coaster in Planet Coaster, It is somewhat inspired by Vogel Rok at Efteling. The block sections worked out nicely on this one, I can run three trains without the ride stacking at all. Not the best indoor coaster I have built, but I think it's okay.

20211116144353_1.jpg
Even though it took me longer I got some enjoyment from building off the grid, I think the buildings look a bit more dimensional this way. I have been recently watching Masked Bandit's videos so I have got some tips and inspiration from his builds.

20211116144407_1.jpg20211116144504_1.jpg
20211116144422_1.jpg20211116144606_1.jpg
The next area of the park to build was the children's area "Funky Forrest" which proved to be the most difficult as trying to build almost anything small scale in Planet Coaster is a challenge. Not only do the flat rides take up a bunch of space, but the scenery pieces are huge as well, plus the game doesn't feature many kids rides to begin with. I ended up creating my own little fake kiddie rides, they look like crap close up but they fill in the space nicely.
20211116144629_1.jpg20211116143508_1.jpg
20211116144730_1.jpg20211116144649_1.jpg
To round off the park we have the lakeside area which features a big wheel and an S&S Free Fly named "Flight School". I think this layout design is relatively realistic, but when you only have one real world example you don't have much to go off.

Here are some night screenshots to end this final update to the park. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you own Planet Coaster I hope you enjoy having a closer look around the park. The link to download the park will be added to the first page of this topic. I am currently working on several other parks atm, but I plan on finally finishing my studios park. I have also completed an old park I was working on, so I will upload that in the next few days.
